Public Swimming Pool Deep End
I am looking for a public swimming pool with a deep end (like, three meters deep). I used to swim at Playport but thats too shallow. Maybe there is a hotel pool in or around Udon with a deep end that is open to (paying) public?

Chopper, why do you need a 3 mtr depth , just curious?
But the pool that Mak and yourself mentioned above at Prajaktra, I thought was the pool that Udon Scuba use or did use for diving lessons. It will be deep for Scuba divers.
Best to drop in and ask.

Good one. I bought some good goggle and snorkel gear along with fins for my daughter to use in our pool.chopperjoey wrote:oh, just a little snorkeldiving for me and my son.
It’s 1.8 at the deep end. Enough to start with.
She’s at the age 13 where she could start scuba lessons. I have done a few hundred dives when I was younger and would like her to start.

Nice hotel, good swimmingpool, conveniently located at Nong Prajak park, will give it a try next week.
oh yeah, nice for yr daughter. Its great excercise for health reasons and a great way of enjoying aquatic wildlife, for the fun of it.
where you bought the fins, here in Udon?
Done some scuba myself, but mostly snorkel diving, like in the Red Sea and the Caribean. Max diving depht 24 meters so its okay dont miss the heavy airtanks.

Well one would guess inflation. Place was empty most times, maybe a couple of mom's with a couple of kids around the 5'o'clock hour. With the price increase for kids, likely empty all the time.chopperjoey wrote: ↑September 26, 2019, 2:14 pmReply from the Prajatrak Hotel:

Standing in front of the Napalai. Staff told me indeed many 7ears ago non residents could swim for 50 baht. Must have had bad experiences bc now pool only for residents. Lol

Just noticed your question. I actually bought the snorkel gear back from Dubai late last year. She has already outgrown the fins as I only bought the shoe type and not the strap for adjustment style. I have seen around town the small box type van painted with the Udon Scuba school signage. I'll grab there number next time and check out there rates for teaching juniors.
You are correct about the health benefits if being active in a pool. Even without swimming by just running or walking for low impact on the limbs exercise. Also good for cardio.
Dived with the Gero Dive club in Geraldton West Australia for about 8 months while working, some great dive spots on the Abrolhos Islands about 40 km out to sea , then had my own small boat while working in North West Australia and did many dives around the islands out of Karratha over the few years, now that's where I saw some big noah's, then lived in Cairns Queensland and did a couple of 5 day onboard trips along the ribbon reefs of the Great barrier reef with 3 dives a day, dived Indonesia and a number of spots around Bali. I would love my daughter to experience what's under the ocean.
Did you find the pool you want?
Re: Public Swimming Pool Deep End
One place to checkout for diving is Tanara beach resort.
They do snorkeling and I am told the water is crystal clear.
See earlier post which includes map.

We did go to Prajatra Hotel. At reception can buy a swimming pool ticket for 100 baht, keep the ticket bc somebody will check for yr tickets later.
One seperate modest size part of the otherwise big swimming pool is up to 4 meters deep, which is nice for fun diving.
