As expected, Udon Immigration office is busy with the end of amnesty rush. I dropped by yesterday around 2 p.m. for a document check and guessed maybe 60 people seated between the two covered seating areas outside already assigned numbered tickets. Not sure what the maximum number allowed inside at any one time but the guy doing the organizing outside reckoned if you didn't have a number already (at 2 p.m.) you won't get served today.

I was reading that Phuket immigration have already said they will be open this Saturday to handle their rush. No clues if Udon will do the same.

Thai immo says there is 150,000 still on amnesty . from Sunday night they will start hunting over stayers. If the come and get you then your in deep do do. They're going to use Thai prisons for the overflow . its going to get real for some soon .

Everyone has had enough time, overstayers should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Mind boggling that some have left it until now to sort it out. The bad news is as so few flights out of this country if they are picked up by immo they can look forward to an extended time in immo deportation center or a Thai prison .I can't see immo processing 150,000 in the few days left

Some publications show the number to be nearer 100,000. As mentioned earlier, it's good to see that Phuket immigration will be open this Saturday in an effort to legalize as many as possible within the deadline.

I was also under the mistaken belief that flights, even to Europe are scarce now. However, if one goes on the airlines website right now and look for one-way bookings, there are seats today on up to half a dozen European airlines. If you try and book a r/t ticket, most will default to a date in January for the outbound flight. I assume that airline search engines have picked 2021 due to the fact that only Thai Embassies can book inbound flights and the CAAT haven't made any statement since 2 July.

A one-way search will even yield options for the US. I haven't checked Australia o/w but imagine that's still dire due to the Australian government's daily arrival cap.

4.45 this morning there were about 20 waiting. By 6 am 150 plus. This was when they handed out appointment tickets. 90% Laos .

I did my 90 day report at Loei immigration yesterday. The place was a mad house. Way more than a hundred people in line. I talked to a South African guy at three in the afternoon. He said he got there at nine in the morning and the line barely had moved since then. I was lucky that my wife was with me. She knocked on the locked office door and told one of the staff that I only needed a ninety day report. They took me in and in ten minutes I was finished and back out. I wished the South African guy good luck and drove the hundred kilometers back home.

I tried the online report and once again it didn't work. It told me to notify my local immigration office. Since it was such a mad house there, I didn't bother even trying to talk to them.

Yes, I didn't see too many farang faces when I did my document check a few days back. Most all were Asians so Laotians, Vietnamese and Cambodians I guess.

Did you notice that this thread with its title was started on April 24th.
Nobody is suggesting that immigration is quiet at the moment.

Very very busy. If you need to go show up at 6am or earlier. We arrived at 5:30am.
Still got near 100 in the queue.
Cut off is 200, many people didn't make it. People over 100 come back at 3pm.

Are they open fully and processing people at 6am or just assigning the numbers until opening time at 8.30am?
