STWW......I Now have a 60 Day Extension ( Marriage ) Permitted to stay until JUNE 29th,So I Gather I'm O.K Now Until JULY 31st under this latest Government Order,WITHOUT Going to Immigration until Then,Correct ??
Absolutely correct. It is probable that when the automatic extension ends (currently 31st July but this can be extended again) that people who are staying with the auto extensions will need to leave Thailand.

You may not be able to get an extension from immigration when the auto extension finishes

I'm one of those waiting for border opening , not looking forward to it as two months of visa runs will turn up at the same time, guess it will be an all day job

As they will from every other country in the world that has granted visa extensions because of the virus.

as someone who years ago "assumed" I knew exactly what IO meant by something, only to later find myself needing to pay an extra B2000 I have been worried about how the "no need to do anything to 31 July" would be interpreted at different offices. I visited Udon Immigration Office today to do 90 day report expecting to be told to go away and come back 31 July. Had my temp taken and hands gelled then entered office. Guy on 90 day desk took passport did my update and returned it to me complete with usual yellow doc showing I must return again on 27th July. Perhaps nobody from "head office" has passed the message on, or perhaps Udon have their own interpretation

Do not expect the same requirements as before.

I have no knowledge but would not be surprised if there was an insurance requirement and a health certificate requirement added, the insurance will not be difficult but a health certificate is rather different.

For anyone who wants to stay in Thailand, (you seem to) the system that worked in the past may no longer work, my suggestion is that a 1 year extension from immigration is going to be the safest option. Extensions are being processed in the normal way.

It is certainly possible that everything will go back to the way it was. TIT YMMV

Perhaps Thailands leaders may decide to reward those farang that chose to remain in the country and continue to bring their foreign currency in during the pandemic, rather than run home with their wallets. A lifetime Visa/Extension amnesty for those who have say 5 or 10 years continuous residence in the kingdom would be nice

The holidays (several in May) were Initially cancelled however the most recent news was that they would be as normal, a cabinet decision on Tuesday.
So I would expect immigration to be closed on Friday, Monday, and Wednesday.

I try best to help society in general DR .. even trawling thru Scottish folklore to find archive material like this old footage of UM members Tamada and Dunroaming when they were nippers in Kiltmanshire Scotland .. back in those days even getting an icecream from the van got messy .. sorry this is the version without subtitles so listen carefully.

btw i was the only person in the immo office today,,, except for the immo officers of course.
