It doesn't take too much to go over the 10K baht limit. Do any of you declare you stuff at customs? If so, what did you have to pay for duty? What's the "flat rate"?If you are bringing in with you the items with total combined value more than 10,000 baht, these items are subject to import taxes and duties. A flat rate of duty will be applied

As I know others of you have, I've taken trips back to my home country and come back to Thailand with a suitcase full of goods for my personnel use. I've never given any thought to declaring these items as there for personnel use, but...

I walk through the turnstiles leisurely and smiling, and with my head held high. Never stop.
After getting two boxes (both 2-foot cubes) of used clothing tagged for 36,000 baht in fees, I don't volunteer a damn thing to Thai Customs. They've gotten more than a pound of flesh outta me.

It's been my experience that they charge anything they want to charge. Or they keep your stuff.

What's worse if you don't pay they not only can keep your stuff but charge you rental for the space it takes up.

I know a couple of career Thai Customs officers.. Both women.. Once bought a house in Los Angeles for her son to live in while he attends university there... It must be tough living on those low civil service salaries..

So you think there will be duty on it?
If I have to mess around going to customs offices and paying extra I will probably wait until Gittigidiyor has them. I was hoping that being non-electrical it would be exempt.
