No need to use VPN is you're accessing the Thai menu of shows, which is what I'm doing.

From the above link:

And this affects us here in Thailand in what way?

Stan is expanding into the same markets throughout SEA as Netflix as direct competition .....

I have Netflix but not a lot of knowledge of the "industry" (Stan, etc).

Is it possible that competition might improve Netflix service?

As a general rule competition is good for the consumer.

Slightly off topic, in Perth Coles and Woolies dominate the grocery market and in my opinion the duopoly has not served customers well, and I cant wait for Aldi to start up and introduce competition.

Things could get exciting in the future but for one problem here in Oz. We pay extra for download where most of the world only pay for speed. I can only get about three movies a month before I've used my Ten Gig limit .....

I watched part of these when they came out, but they were worth watching again.

This may not be related to topic but has anyone have knowledge of a premium set top box being sold at the DNA video stores which allows viewing of WB studio movies, Disney channel and some other Western content. There is not much information on the outside of the box. I am wondering if it can be hooked up to a standard LED tv. It cost 3000 baht. And as usual, the sales people know nothing about how it works except for the price, 3000 baht please.

LOVED Breaking Bad and Madmen! Have not watched The Shield, but a friend in America got the the DVD set for Christmas and said he is enjoying it.

Narcos is good (based on the true story of the notorious Columbian drug lord Pablo Escobar).

HIGHLY suggest House of Cards. Season 4 to be starting soon.

I'm currently watching Californication (very adult content). Having spent about 15 years in California, the superficial lifestyles are bizarre, but surprisingly realistic (especially in and around L.A.).

Thanks, Bubba, I'll check those two out. I've been planning on H.O.C. for awhile.

Out of the ones I mentioned, The Shield was my favorite.

Sons of Anarchy is good. Although, like many, it did go down hill after awhile. Do you remember Oz, from back in the 90's? Check it out if you haven't seen it.

I know it's not an option in Thailand, but some of these come from DVD.com, which is owned by Netflix. It isn't as good of a deal, but it's good if you really want to watch something. You can get around 10 a month if you send them back the next day.

For TV shows I use http://www.watchepisodes1.com. Once you figure out how to click around some of the ads it's very easy to use. Seems to have about every TV show from all around the world and it's free.

Things that generally don't happen in Thailand:

I had to update my credit card info with netflix to continue my subscription (old credit card expired). I tried to do so online......everything seemed to update fine, but when I tried to watch a show this evening, I was advised that I needed to update my credit card info (which I had already done).
At the bottom of the page, it says 'call 1-800-xxxxxxxxx if you have further billing problems or questions'. I did....sort of expecting a looooong wait. Less than a minute later, a service rep said he could see the new credit card info, but for some reason the netflix side wasn't updating my 'authorization to view' page.
The guy said, "I don't want you to miss what you planned to watch this evening, so I'm going to unlock your account and we'll figure out how to resolve this problem at our end." end of story. Total time elapsed about 4 minutes.
Now if only that Makro cashier could resolve a price discrepancy as quickly.

Stranger things have happened: I've gotten in the habit of watching Netflix through my VPN so I get the US menu of shows. Watched Better Call Saul season 1 and was anxiously awaiting season 2 on netflix....but it's not there. But it is available on the Thai menu of netflix shows. Time to tune in and watch how Chuck continues to deal with his electromagnetic hypersensitivity.

after upgrading my 3BB to the 20mbps package I opted to subscribe to Netflix Thailand.. Great, fantastic and yes, I've been Netflix binging.. All of Daredevil (got kinda tired of him kicking peoples asses and getting his kicked in return), both seasons of Better Call Saul, (great, fantastic with superb subplots!) and now Gotham with all of its Batman prequel plots.. Whoda thunk Will Smith's wife Jadda Pinkett Smith would make a truly evil criminal mastermind, or that Alfred Pennyworth the Wayne family butler is a former Royal Marine with SAS experience (plus in real life the son of one of the classic Doctor Who actor Jon Pertwee). I'll likely venture into Breaking Bad since many of the Better Call Saul characters reside there too...

I only realized how much I liked Netflix once I cut my Thais (sic) to UBC. Competition is good.

i have never used any pay tv surely not ubc/true with their dated programs and expensive subscription ,
so i always wonder what programs you guy's look at all these pay tv channels ? ....
