I purchased my iPad at the authorized/official Apple Shop in Central Plaza. Staff seemed competent and knowledgeable.
If they’re still there...I’m sure they can do it.

Otherwise, I’d go to the Banana Shop. Central or Landmark.

FYI. I read somewhere, if your iPad, or any tablet for that matter, is connected to WiFi, 24/7: not good for battery life. I’m unable to back that info up.

Keep us updated.

From what I read it says only authorized people could change the battery. I guess I thought, based on that, it was more involved that it really is.

Thanks for the tips

Think the requirement for only authorized people has to do with warrenty. Any work done by none authorized people probably voids warrenty.

AFIK the iPad battery replacement process usually involves exchanging your current iPad for a refurbished one, this is due to the fact that the screen is bonded into the case so this makes a non apple replacement a less than certain thing. And involves returning the iPad to the factory to be refurbished.

Not to mention the fact that if you can successfully debond screen but in the process damage or possibly even disconnect the home button so it needs repair or replacement then Touch ID will be permanently disabled.

iPhone and iPad are different animals.

That is why I asked the question. I had heard something similar about iPad,

Is there anyone on the forum that has had an iPad battery replaced?

As has been mentioned an iPhone is nothing like an iPad as far as opening one is concerned, so not relevant in anyway.

I have opened two iPhones but would never spend the 30 minutes of heating that softens the glue enough to slow the screen to be picked off, safely maybe.

I got a replacement screen & case fitted in Central to my iPad.
So I would think a battery would be easier.
The phone shop is in the middle where all the phone stands are.
It is something like DS or GS phones.
The technician there is very good & you can see him doing lots of repairs to phones & tablets.

Charlie
I will be in Central tomorrow & go ask if the Shop I mentioned above can replace a battery in a iPad and post the answer along with the cost.

Called in the shop/stand today.
Yes they can put a new battery in the iPad.
They asked me the model so they could give me a price.
Asked for an approximate price & they told me 1500 baht.
The stand is towards the back if you come in the main entrance & up the stairs to 2nd level.
It is the only stand where you will see a small work bench with a magnifying glass & soldering irons etc. where the technician does the repairs
