Internet Problem

Post by kakariki » October 28, 2018, 8:55 am

Two days ago when I turned on my laptop in my hotel, Google Search came up in Laos language, and Google Maps comes up in Laos language also.
It's as if Google is using a Laos server here in Udon, has anyone else experienced this?

I have had that happen when running a VPN.
Google will respond in the language of the country that your VPN is connected to.

Actually Google shows the language based on your IP address, you can change the default language in settings

I believe that www.google.com/ncr will do the trick. "ncr" stands for no country redirect.

Thanks for the info, I gather my hotel is using a VPN. I got the search sorted out, but cannot change maps as I not read Laos. No problem I'll put up with it until I return to Oz.

Correct, I sign in with my Gmail address and always in English, you can also change language by going to the 3 lines on left of screen and chose language then select the language you want. Alternatively if u open Google app and set language there will default for all Google products on android

On the off chance that you are encountering issues with an assortment of sites, they might be caused by your modem or switch. The modem is the gadget that speaks with your Internet specialist organization, while the switch shares the association among every one of the PCs and other arranged gadgets in your family.
