I have a Dell laptop and the monitor went out. Dell just want to much to send in a git it fixed.
1. Do any of you guys know if I might get it fixed in Udon?
2. If so where?

Re: Laptop Monitor
IMO if it is anything worse than a plug coming loose you will have no chance in Udon. As a temporary fix you could install an external monitor to your monitor port if transportability is not a problem.banpaeng wrote:I have a Dell laptop and the monitor went out. There are a couple of guys in the I.T. (2nd floor) section at Robinsons down the bottom corner who do computer repairs and who MAY be able to point you in the right direction.
Sent from my 1977 Apple II using 2 Heinz bake bean cans and piano wire!

I think that the problem will be a blown CCFL tube (literally a baby fluorescent tube) which is seated in the casing for the monitor, I had one of these go on me last year, what a learning experience that was.
Got quoted in between ฃ2 and ฃ300 GBP to get it sorted, ended up finding a tube manufacturer and got one shipped from the US for $6 plus $4 shipping, it arrived ok a few days later, just had to ask a friend with a soldering iron to pop it in place. Total cost ฃ7 anc a couple of beers .
Good luck getting it sorted BP
ps. it might pay you to take the tube out with you, try a google search for CCFL tubes along with your Dell model number.
