Re: Security camera set up
Both Ethernet and Wifi camera’s are available (and ones with both). Without knowing the make and model it’s impossible to know which type you have.
If it’s a wifi model, a typical setup is once the camera is turned on it will have its own network that you have join so that you can give it the settings to allow it to join your network.

Most of the time the camera comes with instructions to set it up.
Did you read the instructions?
If there are not any instructions try googling the camera make and model number.
You may find some setup instructions.

Re: Security camera set up
ICSee camera. No model number! leaflet instructions so tiny and vague.
Yes went to You tube to view. Followed instructions.
But just get "connect WI FI failed"
Re: Security camera set up
Your router should have a button called WPS. After your camera is plugged into a power outlet, press that button and your router should find the camera automatically.

Re: Security camera set up
To run it on the internet, i.e. cameras visible via whatever software on your phone etc., you have to connect a network RJ45 lead from your security DVR to your network modem at your computer.
There are usually a couple of spare inputs on the back of the modem and usual markings are LAN1, LAN2, etc.
Your main computer will be plugged into one so just go to the next spare input.
Image below, (typical DVR) terminal 7 is your LAN connection for the above mentioned RJ45 lead.
Also shown is a typical modem ( yours is more than likely a bit different) but the LAN 1 to LAN 4 terminals to which the other end of your RJ45 cable will connect.
