problem doing anything
Firefox has crashed 27 times so far today, and I havent a clue where to look
tried to do screenshot of error message that sometimes appears (not always) and got "Whoa Firefox screenshots went haywire" so that didnt help
The exeption breakpoint
A breakpoint has been reached
(08U0000003) occured in the application
0X00007FFBE2AE5
Click on OK to terminate the program
Anyone got any ideas?
I've tried switching off and re starting 3 times

My idea would be to google the error message, and see what results.

Uh oh, everything seems to suggest the starting point is scan for malware which can’t be good.
Download Malwarebytes & run it.
It’s free now which is a bonus

First download Avast.
Avast is the only malware checker that does a pre-boot virus check. Then Malware bites then Microsoft defender.
After a scan by Avast, uninstall it, it will eat CPU cycles like a hungry pig.
Then go to Scheduler and make sure that defender only runs at night or it too will suck your computer dry.
In most cases this will fix your problems. Malware bites is pretty good and not a resource hog

I had a bumper sticker in Texas that read 'Beam me up Scotty'. I often wish I could find one in Udon Thani

Why do you even bother to ask for help on here when you don’t read the replies?
I told you what it was & what to do earlier

Re: problem doing anything
It's no bloody good telling me to download and run something when I dont have a clue what it is, what it does or what I could b*gger up by doing it ...... even if I knew or had the ability to find it and/or run it
Re: problem doing anything
Firefox did an update yesterday. If your configuration is to enable automatic updates, you wouldn't know. Not sure if there's a rollback option in Firefox and don't have time to check myself as I'm off for drinks with Max, Jos and the team.

Re: problem doing anything
managed to get some answers from google (keeps crashing before I read to the end, but noticed the following sentence which sent bells and lights flashing ...
"Before you get started executing the troubleshooting guide given below, make sure that you create a System Restore Point first since you will be dealing with some critical settings in Windows. Having done this, proceed to the options provided below."

Re: problem doing anything
You asked a question about fixing a problem you had & I answered what I would do to start with.stattointhailand wrote: ↑June 20, 2021, 10:02 pmIt's no bloody good telling me to download and run something when I dont have a clue what it is, what it does or what I could b*gger up by doing it ...... even if I knew or had the ability to find it and/or run it
Were you expecting the answer to be something like put the kettle on, have a biscuit & everything will be okay when you sit back down?
Maybe getting Boris out of office or rejoining the EU will help?
Crack on with your critical system settings & good luck, it’s pointless me contributing

Re: problem doing anything
Niggles, you should know by now I know SFA about how comps work, telling me to download something or run such and such is no different to sitting me in a pilots seat and telling me to fly the plane. I can handle "click on this, select this from drop down, click on that, select xxx press enter, anything more and i'm well and truly b*ggered. I'm truly not trying to be awkward or anything I'm really too scared of losing everything to do it

Re: problem doing anything
Good advice, I found Firefox was getting too bloated and slowing down a year ago so shelved it and went to Chrome = No problems.

Re: problem doing anything
Going back to Win 7 means you will be totally exposed to new malware as there are has been security patches for some years. Not a good move at all.stattointhailand wrote: ↑June 20, 2021, 9:35 pmBojo should have stopped tech cos making so many different Windows ...... 7 was perfectly good enough 10 is nothing but problems ..... ditch it in San Phrao fountain and go back to SEVEN
