Hours before the above map was posted by Lee, I wrote a member review under pizza and pasta in town after my first visit yesterday. We really liked the food, the price, and the owner, and will go back often. Though sure hope they will improve the decor, which was almost reason for my wife (me too) to veto our entering, she was only convinced of our returning in the future after the food came. It is hard to find while driving, so park the car somewhere close to Mono Place and walk back.

This explains why I couldn't find this restaurant before, on the other map (in the Pizza and Pasta topic) it is on a different location (same street, different corner). Will check it out soon.

Had some ice cream and cappuccino there today... very nice. Hospitable owner, nice chat. Hard to find, drove past it slowly three times and finally spotted it.

The sign off the fork and knife is where the restaurant is (on or nearby a corner), it is in the street with the local name "Soi Katoy" (with a 7-11 on the corner). But indeed it is hard to find, because it don't really look like a restaurant. Don't know what the real name of the street is, Google gives it another name than the map from Udonmap.

BTW, I can see the prices now, but couldn't see them before, has something to do with the scaling of the image.

The mixed salad on the menu reminds me of the Chef Salad which I have yet to find in Thailand. My favorite would have strips of cheese and ham. They have cheese for the omelet, but I don't see any item that has ham or similar. Hold the carrots and throw in a few olives and slivers of onion. Sprinkle in some grated parmason, salt and pepper.

I acquired my love for Chef Salads at my favorite Italian restaurant in Germany. It's easy to assemble in the U.S. as all ingrediants are available at most groceries. Most ingrediants are usually in my fridge for making sandwiches. It goes well with a beer.

An Udon Thani restaurant that offers Chef and Greek salads would become a favorite with me. That with a couple slices of good bread and butter and a beer makes a meal. Actually I can come close to the Chef salad when eating at the Sizzler salad bar.

Thanks johnty even I should be able to find it from those directions... :D
TJ I believe Carbonara should contain ham, so you might be lucky with your salad :D :D

its a left turn at the intersection if you left the old nongs ribs, maybe best to park alongside the temple wall if coming by car? And its on soi KATOY.

went yesterday and it was all right, nice people run it.
