Restaurant to get good Thai sausages

Post by tekmo » October 20, 2012, 8:17 am

I arrived here last night. Spend time with my gfs family.
Now where's a good restaurant to get some thai sausages.
Don't have any kind of transportation yet but I'm working on it.
I'm by JK Place at Soi Jantikarm

I think it is a product associated a bit more with street vendors rather than restaurants.
There are a few sellers on the side of the road by 7/11 at the night market later on.
There is also a vendor who sells BBQ meats (chicken, liver, pork & fish) on the lower half of the Adulyadet they serve about 3 different varieties of sausage.
I have found that the cheaper sausages that most of the street vendors sell to be pretty tasteless.
There used to be a shop near the Vehicle Licensing Centre (so 20kms or so outside Udon) that sold very good uncooked Issan sausages, but they were not cheap..

Thai sausages run the gamut in variety. As Bob H. says some can be tasteless and mostly filler. If you are talking about the Chiang Mai (northern style) sausage. There is a restaurant on Srisuk Rd. called Khao Soi that may have what you are looking for. http://www.khaosoitai.com/

Your gf will have to help you read the text. Click on "contact us" to get a map of the location.
