link Sausage

Post by banpaeng » July 4, 2005, 10:52 pm

Is it possible to buy link type sausage (not hot dogs) in Udon. This would be the German type or smoked type sausages. Would prefer the Texas type smoked sausages.

Thanks

Maybe you should try the German restaurant that it on the road behind the Charoensri shopping complex. He makes his own sausages, hams, pies etc.

Never heard anyone say anything bad about the Nong Khai bacon.Seems she was taught by her American husband.

being new to this board, I must express my thanks about the efforts of making it go. Already a few of the things I learned here paid off. yes, went to 'the sausage shop' "Rauch Kate". Wonderful sausage, we came away with two bags full of food. Any other deli tips are welcome.

I only saw bratwurst, and some small dry hard looking things at the bottom of the fridge, nothing I'd call 'link-sausage" But the bratwurst was great!! (so was the Greman Weissbeer, made me break my self imposed beer-fast.

Where can you get the British sausage, made with lots fat, rusk, and little meat content in Udon?

I've only ever had a decent british style sausage from the english butchers shop in pattaya, would be good to know for future reference, or will I always have to bring my sausage maker with me on each visit, just for when I need a fix

p.s. I would imagine the hardest bits to get in Thailand to make a sausage, would be the rusk and seasoning, I'm pretty sure that the guy in pattaya imports them from the UK.

It's part machine & part man, the man part just has to turn the handle though, considering the size of it, it is actually very efficient and could produce large quantities in not a lot of time.

I put this link for Hua Hin Ham Bacon & Meat Company in "Pies Pies Pies", but it may be useful in this thread.

Nice pictures of an English breakfast, pies & meat (will leave to BB to identify  ) and they also have link sausages, yummy, I can already feel my arteries harden
