Where are The Best Salad Bars ?

Post by NongKhaiLee » November 27, 2021, 3:11 pm

I took the wife to a certain restaurant in Central yesterday that has a pretty fair salad bar, I'm not really much on Salad but it sure made her happy. It got me thinking that surely there must be other eateries in Udon with a decent Salad Bar?

Thanks,
Lee

Tom and Jee's

Doesn't meet the definition of a "Salad Bar"....but their Chicken Caesar Salad is very good (iceberg used).

Though majority of visitors prefer their Greek Salad, haven't tried it yet and not about to (not my cup of tea).

The certain place in Central that begins with "S" is the only salad bar I know of here. It is excellent especially if one gets creative with quinoa, beans, veg etc

Ice Style Salad in Phuket Town (google it) would be worth copying here, they weigh your salad and have a dozen sauces to choose from without charge. I'd love to hear there already is such a place in Udon.

Anyone else have an opinion on the salad bar at Sizzler?

Not been for quite some time (must be easy 3 yrs defo pre covid) but as i recall it was excellent .. very fresh n crispy lots of choice and mini boiled quails eggs ,for some reason the salad bar including a desert or two in the form of chocolate moose which was a nice way to finished off a meal.

Steak was ok .. nowt special just ok... the salad bar was the reason to go more than the Sizzling stuff.

Love the salad bar. That and a bottle of water. Order much else and your meal is no longer a good value nor would it be healthy. PS: I skip the free bread that is heavily loaded up with lard or cheap butter.

I looked at the menu at Sizzler's but I remembered eating a steak there years ago and it was nothing like the steak from back home...so I just got the salad bar along with the wife. The quail eggs, soups and other items made it a nice meal. and it was also at a discounted price.
We just had our 40th anniversary and I failed to get her anything, what with travelling back here from the States, so the salad bar was a small price to pay!

Seems a very large price to pay for rabbit food :-k (it's a joke b4 ya start)

Bit off topic, but does anyone know why some of the top medical/dietary experts (paid a fortune by top football clubs) ban players from sauces/ketchup/mayo etc when a healthy eating salad bar gives customers about 12 unhealthy options to choose from?

Because not all salad bar customers are CR7's?

139 baht for all you can eat soup, salad, pasta if one wants, fruit, dessert, is the price at Sizzler if only ordering salad bar. (M-F) 199 baht weekend's as they load up extra proteins.

Seems a great value and healthy choice to me. If vigilant just use balsamic and avoid creamy dressings.

AGREE .. 199 is good value 139 is excellent .... in fact im gonna go n check it out later .

Not a salad bar but as worst value gotta be Chester Grill .. i stopped at one on route to Bkk , mistake , such tiny portions a budgie would need to order 2 or 3 !!

At Sizzler...yummy. In a soup mug I layer quinoa, white beans@, salsa, red onions, sunflower seeds, balsamic. Then dump and mix on a salad plate. In addition to a green salad, plus plate w Cole slaw, potato salad, beets, pumpkin salad, bit of chicken. Then a soup, finally fruit or dessert.

139 baht.
