Pinto beans at Jingjo Bar.

Post by cryptic » August 7, 2008, 3:18 pm

Out and around yesterday and with the family on board had to visit Makro for the family grocery trip. So heading back into the city hub, we came across the Jingjo bar and decided to have lunch.

How do you work this one out. On the menu was Pinto beans with ground beef and vegetables, so I asked the girl who makes this dish up and she said, the boss. Texas pinto beans in a little soi in northern Thailand.......apparently the owner is Thai. I am still scratching the head trying to work this one out.....and the beans were good.

If there are any Texan cowpokes around try this one out, not bad value 100B.

Kind of pricey for a bowl of chili, hope it was a big bowl. T.J.'s and Nobby's make some good chili. Two different styles but very good IMO.

Jinjoes use to have top food. Now NO way.Steaks are like eating a army boot.As for the pinto beans they were great when Bobby cooked them.If you want to see a place that has gone down hill in a big way just follow the kangaroo signs to JINGJOES.

Guess my friend got lucky too, he thought his steak was better than the one he had at Green Leaf the week before! Somewhat better price too.

I eat at Jingoes quite often and have always enjoyed my meal. Good service also.

Had a few meals at Jingjoes, I thought the steaks had improved. Pinto you must have been unlucky or maybe you should try the Carp next time

Can someone post a map or give directions to Jingjo? I'm a Texas/Tennessee boy and would love some pinto beans.

That's the update after 13 years?

Curious on this one, if it really is a going concern and what they have. I used to enjoy Bubba's texmex.

Interesting tidbit .... Fred Williams had 491 (or 528) posts in 10 years, quite a prolific and valuable contributor to this forum. Then silent for ten months, if search users posts function is accurate (not sure it is), until this week commenting on Jingjoes in 2021.

So now am keen to explore the mystique of Jingjoes!

I know Rob went back to Oz at least a year ago. Last I heard. Hope he is doing well. No idea if still in Oz or back in LOS.
