No, good buddy, I meant what I said, I think it's accurate to say they are Unbelievers of the broad culture that we as Westerners adhere to. For example, equal rights for women, etc.
Understood.

Well what's the solution? I reckon we need to get Muslim dominated countries inside the western economic tent with lots of middle class jobs in their countries. The French in particular also need to open the door to opportunity to their Muslim population.

I think if people see work as a way to improve their lives, they're less likely to want to go around killing other people on religious grounds. And yes, I know more than just jobs is needed. What else?

I still think far more western people are murdered and harmed by domestic violence in western countries and that's a problem that also needs a lot of work. There are a hell of a lot males out there murdering and bashing those they live with. Males similar to us - e.g age, race, occupations, nationality etc. We prefer to talk about rare violence inflicted by religious nutters.

Getting Muslim dominated countries inside the western economic tent
Well some of these muslim countries are wealthy enough to help their own people but greed and power stops this from happening
As for improving some lives, the radical ones don't care so they will still kill in the name of who ever or what ever
Some of these radical ones also come from those improved lives

It's a shame western countries haven't been pushing the Middle East dictatorships more firmly towards democracy for decades ...

Yes, I agree noosard some of the terrorists have been from privileged backgrounds. I'd suggest if these privileged lads could more easily chase and have sxx with females they might follow their cxcks rather than loony ideology. So I'd add sexual liberation to the prescribed cure.

Does a Western style democracy comfortably fit all nations or do Arab nations need a strong, despotic leader to hold the country together? Are we, as Westerners, mistaken in believing our model is the best way forward? Is the Western world harming itself in pursuing that idea (Iraq, Libya and Syria)? :-k

You forget Bliar supplied the iraqi WMD evidence to the US while Cameron assisted in securing the 'no fly zone' mandate for Libya and even attempted to do the same for Syria until he was stopped by a House of Commons vote. We also had boots on the ground in both nations. =;

What do you mean after the fall of those 2
Pretty sure was happening before that
Just our silly goverments thinking they could stop it
Our silly goverments taking sides
When both sides are as bad each other
Both in this case meaning more than 1
and probably more than you can count on each hand

This article does not make an answer about Islam or radical Islam any closer, but it does offer food for thought.

Which is why I say let them sort it out amongst themselves, in their own region - they don't need our help.
