Election prediction

Post by trubrit » June 21, 2011, 1:49 pm

Now just for fun I thought it would be interesting to see what forum members predict the outcome to be .No prizes, just fun . Obviously we all have an allegiance or our wives do , which will reflect in our forecast , as will our hopes and ambitions. So no political arguments please. Just lets see who is on the nail at predicting the result .I suppose I should start .Let me start by saying I have no insider information , just the information available to all that read or listen to the Thai news. So , I predict the Pheu Thai party will end up with a small overall majority, or just under, then they will form a coalition, not with Bhum Jai Thai, I think Newin blotted his copy book by changing loyalties in the last government, but with Chart Pattana. led by its new leader Chumpol, brother of Banharn Silpa-Archa, who received a five year ban from politics , taking over. The figures for both parties in the last government were :Bhum Jai Thai 32 seats. Chart Pattana 25 seats, so its a close call.Lets see :-"

I think Thaksin will win and it depends on with how much which parties he will pay for helping him.
His sister will be not PM she only likes the show for now.
After the election she will tell the people she likes family live like her brother. :D :D :D :D

PT (ms Shinnawattra ) to win but without enuff seats to have a majority , will scramble to form a coalition without success sparking demonstrations then leading to a military coup .

I am sure that the politicans who get voted in will be the winners, unfortunately the general public will be the losers as here they are considered as so much cannon fodder used to perpetuate the status quo which in essence gives not one damn for them.

The party's formal name is พรรคเพื่อไทย........พรรค = Political Party
เพื่อ = for
ไทย = Thai
I'd call it the Thai Peoples' Party

That's my informal translation

Lessons learned??:

"The session was joined by more than 100 commanding officers of military companies and battalions that took part in the crackdowns on red shirt protesters in April and May last year."

went down near Central world last night.. Didn't see much in the way of congestion or crowds in the square.. Guess the Democrats kept their promise not to block any roads.. Traveled from Onnut BTS to Chidlom by Rajaprasong at 1645. Didn't see any great groupings of folks wearing yellow shirts or pro-Dem attire, just regular commuters..

The Dems big "reveal"... evidently Suthep's disclosure that it must have been Jatuporn that killed "Seh Dang" Maj. Gen. Khattiya... Considering the public information and eye witness statements from international journalists of that assassination demonstrated indicted the bullet came from within the military controlled area, that's not worth a laugh....

Not a prediction but a heads up .To any Thai people staying in the Non Wau Sor area that come from other parts of the country. This Sunday 26th.you can go to the Amphoe in Nong Wai and cast your vote for the candidate you prefer from your home town . It will be open from 9am onwards .If you live in Udon there are three places including the university open but which one is for you depends on which part of the country you come from . This Sunday 26th only . Don't miss the chance , you don't have to go home to vote .

I think its a win for Yingluck but a slim one , might be heading for either a coalition , a coup , a civil war , arnachy , or peace n good will with a stable Thai government and economy ... OR A COMBINATION OF ALL - EXCEPT THE LAST ONE !!

Which ever way it goes nowt will change quickly ... tho at some point the Sh*t will hit the fan bigtime .

Mash ... order order order in the emporium or i will be forced to remove the right honourable gentleman.

As a consequence of the absent voter facility this weekend, the government has declared a countrywide alcohol ban from 6.00pm this evening until midnight tomorrow, The same as next weekend when full voting takes place .
