My thoughts, and not a conspiracy theory etc

A thrown pipe bomb , suggests not the work of a professional terrorist operator ( Taksin name symbolic ? )

TNT is a low level explosive in the bigger picture. No ball bearings or nails for massive injury profile, on top of the intial blast.

The original bombs x 3 , 2 defused by local Bomb squad suggest again the level of professional knowledge. 1 on the Chitlom Skywalk bridge, easily seen and failed to be activated etc - Vs Bali Bombing 2002 had an initial explosion which caused individuals to get out and onto the street , where the 2nd device exploded with massive impact.

The first location is interesting, symbolic area for the Reds V Yellows fighting years ago, another bomb on the same corner a while ago on NYE 2 or 3 years ago . Cant really see a connection with Central the new owners of the old World Trade Centre and the bomb in Koh Samui , which the junta quickly blamed on internal politics again and retracted later. ( pipe bomb also )

Junta quick to accuse the bomber/s of trying to derail Thailand's economy by targeting foreigners, if they wanted to target foreigners specifically that would impact deeply, perhaps Sukhumvit / Asoke / Silom / 'might have a larger impact.

Pattaya , Samui and Phuket higher profiles of Foreigners, but BKK is the seat of the Junta.

Symbolic as the day after the national bike ride for HRH

The registration of all SIM cards in Thailand by end of July, might have meant SIMS used were not registered ??

The Australian Government offered Forensic teams to assist in the investigation, probably not take up, as the streets were all washed down and cleaned within 24 hours, massive contamination at the scene looking at the pictures in the media.

What ever the outcome / whoever is responsible, lone wolf fanatic etc its going to hit hard with the local economy for a while.

1 UM member postponing flights to Thailand, my friends in Udon, cancelling trip to BKK for a holiday.

QANTAS offering their PAX flights home asap if they wish with no penalties.

Tragic which every way you look at it and what ever side of politics people might have.

Innocent bystanders and their families are the real loosers

What is curious is there no physical description of the suspect being released or any enhanced cctv pictures.

Can you please explain what is symbolic about the bridge being named after individual Taksin, or maybe you are confusing his name with someone elses that happens to have another H in it .If you speak Thai you would know the pronunciation is completely different.

Dr Udomsak Hoonwijit, head of the Forensic Medicine Unit, said he found ball bearings in the bodies of dead victims taken to his hospital. "Ball bearings were put into the bomb to kill more people. The victims I saw died from the ball bearings rather than the impact of the blast," Dr Udomsak said.

Apologies, as not reported in the main stream media I have read.

a Link explaining Fors and Against various groups.

Just hope the perpetrator/s are caught soon, to reduce further anxiety in the capital.

The link didn't consider whether the Thai military or disaffected members of the Thai military did it. They'd know about explosives.

Is it possible this is a Thai version of the Unabomber? A nutter.

I think we should all learn not to speculate. There were so many theories and speculation on here with the Malaysian Airlines threads that I thought I was in Thailand at one time what with all the gossip and rumour mongering. Let's just wait on the facts if and when available and leave the rest to the authorities and press,
Here's tae us, wha's like us, damn few, and they're a' deid. Mair's the pity!

Why speculate the police are already doing that.

"I don't suspect one person, I suspect many people,"

"I am confident that there are Thais involved but I am not saying it is just Thais or that there are foreigners."

"the man on the video resembled a foreigner more than a Thai".
So it goes ...

Not wishing to be an egregious rumour monger, this "gentleman" doesn't look Thai?

Don't worry GT the British Press are on the case. The Sun identified him as the son of Buddy Holly. The Times asked Prince Philip for his opinion and he said " Yellow with slitty eyes " which has narrowed the search considerably.

The British Government gave Thailand Red Alert Status today which for me is worrying I'm due there in about 8 weeks.

A burmese immigrant will get a pull soon and hauled in front of the cameras with the trumped up DNA evidence.
