Diesel price up again on Tuesday

Post by tamada » May 31, 2022, 4:00 am

The board of the Oil Fund decided on Monday to raise the cap on the price of standard diesel by one baht, from 31.94 baht to 32.94 baht per litre, from Tuesday (today 31 May)

By coincidence, I did a tem tank refill yesterday afternoon as opposed to the ritual nung-pahn top up job during the school holidays.

Just listening to LBC news and a full tank of diesel in the UK just broached the 100 quid mark.

I see yesterday the great PM stated fuel was cheap here using the Netherlands as his comparison, I guess he forgot to take wages of the two countries into consideration....

And Petrol up again. 44.15 baht a litre for E20. 500 baht no longer keeps the car running for a week.

Having been away for 2 years we noticed the increase even on our little Vios which runs on gasahol95 but compared to our diesel XC90 in the uk it still feels cheap although noticeable

67 fill ups on my 2018 Revo, first 2000 Baht fill up today. It helps that the truck is getting 36mpg.

Still not at the peak of 45 Baht/Litre for diesel in July 2008 = Recession!

Attached is a chart showing the price I have been paying at the BP (Phen Rd. Ban Dung) since buying DMax in 2002.

Is that the Imperial Gallon or US? DMax overall average is 31 MPG (Imperial) - 9.55 Litres/100KM. But then it's an old 3.0 Litre with Automatic transmission.

Us gallon, 2.4liter engine, manual, 6 speed. I'm the guy who coasts into red lights when I see one ahead. Actually, over the 67 tanks, I've averaged 38.96mpg/16.56kpl. Eight years in my 3.0L Vigo, previously, avg 32.73mpg/13.95kpl, and 27.02mpg in my 1998 Tiger.

Ah! I remember why I migrated from manual vehicles back in the late 60's:-

I use the Premium Diesel, better for the old engine ( now 20 years old ). Over 46 a litre, but I do get good mileage, not sure what but 1000 goes a long way.
