Big lead story on CNN so here in Udon's version of "World News" seems appropriate.

I dont think CNN have an obituaries section to put the obituaries in. Udon map however not only have an obituaries section, but also a thread showing his obituary in it

^ Indeed.

I was one of the 43 million+ who bought the album. One of my favourites of all time, when spinning on the Technics turntable + pumped up on the Sansui amp + listening through the Sennheiser headphones.

Meatloaf live at Wembley Arena. The finest ever concert for me.

Never was impressed. It's pretty grim listening right now on streaming radio as every Baby Boomer DJ eulogizes while playing the same damn record over and over. The Millennial ones seem to have a better grip.

suburban) yanks & country aussies have similar
values. grew up in vaguely common scenario

common themes in music& film. maybe brits
were into punk at time i honestly don't know?

No dispute there - the Millennials have shown time and time again that they have a better, and even firmer, grip.

Not sure about the sheilas however. 8)

Yes, he proclaimed, 'If I die from covid, I'll die, nobody is going to control me'. So no he did not get vaccinated. And, true to his word, he died.

Really, where does that put us guys who were born in the forties and grew up listening to real rock and roll in the fifties: Elvis, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis (the last man from that era still standing), Chuck Berry, Fats Domino, Carl Perkins, Gene Vincent et al? Where, Cali, where? Yeah, I know, out to pasture.

Id sure as hell prefer to listen to your 50's music than the total sh*t that has been produced from the late 80's up to now

What stirred my coming of age?... Eagles, Steely Dan, Lindisfarne, Roxy Music, Love, Jethro Tull, ELO, Yes, Steve Gibbons Band, Weather Report, The Moody Blues, Lou Reed, Black Sabbath, The Sutherland Brothers, Cream, Crosby Stills & Nash, David Bowie, Free, Stevie Wonder, Rory Gallagher, Led Zeppelin, Wishbone Ash, Hawkwind, K ing Crimson, Iron Butterfly, ...and Pamela Robertson.

The best meatloaf I remember was served at Furr's on Houston's N Freeway @ Airline.

The days of Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZ Top, AC/DC (Bon Scott + Back in Black), Rush, Jefferson Airplane, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Molly Hatchet, Joe Walsh, Derp Purple, Cheap Trick, Bad Company, The Who, Journey, Def Leppard, Ozzy with Randy Rhodes, Pink Floyd, just to name a few, are unfortunately long gone.

One thing all the great bands had in common that I listened to that don’t exist today, great guitarist.
