Doomsday? Scientists say humanity could be wiped out from the planet in the next 3 decades
As per the research report, the atmospheric conditions in the coming decades could be too deadly, and it will bring a doomsday scenario to the planet.
A few days back, during an exhibit at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC had claimed that the atmospheric conditions in the modern world are very similar to the scenario during the 'Great Dying' moments that happened 250 million years ago. Now, climate scientists David Spratt and Ian Dunlop have sensationally claimed that climate change is going to pose an existential threat to humans in the coming decades.
As per these climate researchers, humans will not survive past 2050 if the atmospheric temperature rises by three degree Celsius. These researchers also predict that 55 percent of the world's populations across 35 percent of its land area will experience more than 20 days of deadly heat in the coming decades.
Spratt and Dunlop made these remarks on their report named 'Existential climate-related security risk: A scenario approach'. In the report, researchers revealed that this increase in atmospheric temperature will result in the collapse of the ecosystem, and thus humanity will face the chaos of all times.
"A number of ecosystems collapse, including coral reef systems, the Amazon rainforest and in the Arctic. Some poorer nations and regions, which lack the capacity to provide artificially-cooled environments for their populations, become unviable. Deadly heat conditions persist for more than 100 days per year in West Africa, tropical South America, the Middle East, and South-East Asia, contributing to more than a billion people being displaced from the tropical zone," wrote the researchers in the study report, Express.co.uk reports.
The research report also added that the scale of destruction that will be inflicted by climate change is so deadly, and it will undoubtedly bring about a doomsday scenario to the earth.
In the meantime, Curtis Deutsch, a researcher at the University of Washington has claimed that animals living in the equatorial region are more likely to survive when compared to living beings in the polar region. As per Deutsch, equatorial animals can move towards the polar region in search of a cooler atmosphere, but animals in the polar region will find it hard to discover extremely cool areas to dwell.

2020-2030
Governments fail to act on the evidence that the Paris Agreement isn't enough to keep Earth's temperature from rising, and will "lock in at least 3°C of warming". As projected by previous studies, carbon dioxide levels have reached 437 parts per million, which hasn't been seen in the last 20 million years. The planet warms by 1.6°C (2.8°F).
2030-2050
Emissions peak in 2030 and are reduced. However, carbon cycle feedbacks and the continued use of fossil fuels see temperatures rise by 3°C (5.4°F) by 2050.
2050
By 2050 there's a scientific consensus that we reached the tipping point for ice sheets in Greenland and the West Antarctic well before 2°C (3.6°F) of warming, and for widespread permafrost at 2.5°C (4.5°F). A "Hothouse Earth" scenario plays out that sees Earth's temperatures doomed to rise by a further 1°C (1.8°F) even if we stopped emissions immediately.
At this point the human impact is off the scale. Fifty-five percent of the global population are subject to more than 20 days a year of lethal heat conditions beyond that which humans can survive. North America suffers extreme weather events including wildfires, drought, and heatwaves. Monsoons in China fail, the great rivers of Asia virtually dry up, and rainfall in central America falls by half.
Deadly heat conditions across West Africa persist for over 100 days a year, and poorer countries are unable to provide enough artificially-cooled environments for their populations to be viable. Food production is severely affected, and inadequate to feed the global population. More than a billion people are displaced.
The knock-on consequences affect national security, as the scale of the challenges involved, such as pandemic disease outbreaks, are overwhelming. Armed conflicts over resources may become a reality, and have the potential to escalate into nuclear war.
In the worst case scenario, a scale of destruction the authors say is beyond their capacity to model, there is a "high likelihood of human civilization coming to an end".

Well, NOW is the chance that Believers need to prove that they know what they are talking about. That's much more than the 11.5 years left of the 12 year prediction of the world ending.
If they're so sure it's going to happen, they must know HOW it's going to happen. Get busy now and tell us HOW you're going to slow, stop or reverse these claims -- specifically. Tell us how much it will cost and the measurable results of your efforts. There's decades left to prove your mettle. We're all rooting for you!

Re: ClimateGate busts things wide open
When 2050 comes, and assuming the population then progressively reduces by some 55% thereafter, due to the prediction of the lethal heat conditions, this might actually be a good start towards correcting soem of the main causes behind the alleged global warming (if one believes in the temperature rise forecast).
Just think of it, sometime after 2050,
55% less plastic bottles being used
55% less garbage in general
55% less electricity being used
55% less water needed
55% less people farting when they wake up
55% less cars at the traffic lights
Other side benefits would be,
55% less people in the Bars - I might have a chance then, although I will be 94 years old and not much use to any girl at that time
55% less people in the 7 elevens - must mean shorter lines at the check outs
55% less in socialist handout/welfare payments, to those who don't want to work
Won’t worry me, as I will just start stocking up on ice from next week onwards, so I can get through those post 2050 heat waves in Thailand

Another climate alarmist prediction that didn't happen. Thank God that the US Senate didn't tax Americans more for this foolishness.
What was wrong, was the prediction that the Arctic would be ice free in 2013, what is not in much dispute is the rate of melting indicates that the Arctic is likely to be ice free in Summers, some time this century.
That is alarming enough without silly chicken little predictions.

Fast approaching the 10 year anniversary of ClimateGate, and the BBC did a poor job of trying to blow it all off as fake news. Expected from a Believer network.
ClimateGate is no different today than it was the day it was discovered and revealed. It is mainly comprised of Believers trashing Skeptics. It was a group of Believers getting wealthy on government grants. It was the discovery of so-called people of integrity manipulating data and evidence until it was beyond comprehension and reaching alarmist levels.
Yeah, that's still happening today. All of it.
As usual, the ones caught have a ton of excuses -- all of the excuses on someone else or something else.
Still today, there is nothing anywhere that shows that our earth is warming in any way that is unprecedented. The earth has undergone climate changes forever -- even before the Industrial Age.
The Believers still put all their eggs into their computer models basket, which are still discovered to be manipulated on occasion and often are different than what is actually happening.
The one thing that is the most egregious offense of the Believers is that they betray the fundamental principles of the science that they claim is the basis for all of their gobbledigook. Science relies on skepticism in any theory until it can provide a full and explainable outline and description of the observed evidence. The explanation in measurable and specific terms has never happened, so the number of skeptics continues to grow.
ClimateGate was/is real. It happened, and it exposed the hoax. The Believers have never recovered from it ten years later.

Yep Lone Star, again you are right on the money. "It was a group of Believers getting wealthy on government grants." Let's not forget all the Corporations around the world that were also Scammed by the Believers, donations to get the Believers off their backs.

Hey!, its the next Grand Solar Minimum! Everyone keeps going on about 'Global Warming' and paying zero attention to the Real Problem: a cooling planet from the next grand solar minimum.
Just a few centuries ago, the planet experienced a mild ice age, quaintly dubbed the Little Ice Age. Part of the Little Ice Age coincided with a period of low solar activity termed the Maunder Minimum (named after astronomer Edward Maunder). It's believed that a combination of lower solar output and high volcanic activity were major contributors (Free 1999, Crowley 2001), with changes in ocean circulation also having an effect on European temperatures (Mann 2002).
