Presumably this signals the green light for all other Airlines to introduce similar discriminatory flight rules which effectively ensure moslems will not use them? :-" :-" :? :?

IIRC there is already at least one airline which does not serve alcohol. And it's easy enough not to use pork products. I think that I'm more concerned about enforcement, should they find that you have any of the prohibited materials on the flight. What will they do to you?

Presumably there will be no TLV flights. But will they sell to people carrying an Israeli passport? If not, of course, they could run into problems, as KU is starting to now.

Royal Brunei , didn't provide Alcohol years ago, but you could hand carry your own on in Business Class etc

Im sure now they have gone down the Sharia Law over there, its most likely banned full stop, as xmas trees and decorations are. LOL

Libyan Airlines don't serve alcohol either, Air Malta did, !! much to the disgust of Libyans on their flights, LOL.

Saudi Araba's flag carrier, Saudia, was founded as Saudi Arabian Airlines in September 1945, and it has been Shariah compliant since inception. This Shariah compliancy idea is nothing new so the headline of this thread is misleading.

I think Sharia compliance is not only about pork and alcohol. Airlines might claim their hostesses wear the Hijab but many Muslims would complain they wear a sexually (If too strong, provocative) style of headdress.

"Sharia as importantly involves rules which govern loans and finance
Sharia is a moral and religious code which affects everything from a believer’s personal hygiene to diet and finance.
In terms of the latter, it prohibits acceptance of specific interest (known as riba) or fees for loans of money, whether the payment is fixed or floating.
To comply with Sharia, any loan must be Qard (free of profit)'. This therefore excludes student loans, which accrue interest (albeit, at a very low rate, equivalent to the rate of inflation).
There is not a strictly codified uniform set of laws that can be called Sharia. It is considered a system of several laws, based on the Qur'an, Hadith and centuries of debate, interpretation and precedent.
Attempts to implement Sharia law have been met with opposition globally."

This is a new airline and I assume needs a level of borrowed finance so sharia loan rules are important, complex and outside the norm .

The same on non-compliant Sharia airlines. Many Muslim's on board and can't wait till the bar opens.
