Well thats the temp sorted, now if we can get rid of the rain, we can get back to decent summers of cricket again

No chaos here, I just wonder why if the world is warming up it does not happen everywhere?papafarang wrote: ↑July 27, 2019, 1:16 pmclimate change = chaosjai yen yen wrote: ↑July 27, 2019, 9:20 amVancouver island B.C., temps around 16 to 24. for June and July. Re: hottest June on record as planet warms up
Thats why its now called climate change , and not as was global warming . Some places will get hotter whilst other countries will get colder .
Britain is a case in point . If the polar caps melt enough, not only will you get seas rising , but they will become less saline.
Less salt water in the North Atlantic will effect the Gulf Stream that give Britain its milder winters , compared to other countries in Europe on a similar latitude .
If the gulf stream moves north then Britain will suffer climatically because of it , and get a lot colder in winter .
Just the same way as some countries will suffer floods every year , whilst others suffer droughts .

This article, which is dated 2010, may be of interest to the few attempting to make sense of "climate change." Read the entire article to put it all in perspective. Note that the current global warming may not be a good sign.
"The last glacial was accompanied by the increase of a really averaged global mean surface temperature, alias global warming. … But also increasing was the temperature difference between the oceans and the poles, the basic condition of polar ice growth. Believe it or not, the last glacial started with “global warming”!
I recognized the “condition for polar ice growth”. The main ice sheets grew on either side of the Atlantic Ocean. The warm Gulf Stream fed snow onto the northern lands that were chilled by weaker summer sunshine due to the Earth’s orbital changes. But I didn’t quite understand what Kukla was driving at, until he kindly sent a reference to a paper he published with Joyce Gavin in 2005. The abstract reads in part:
As perihelion moved from winter solstice toward spring equinox, the solar beam in astronomic winter and spring became stronger than in summer and autumn. This orbital configuration under climate conditions like today would lead to warming of tropical oceans but cooling of the polar regions. The really weighted global mean surface temperature, which is dominated by the low latitudes, would increase. Consequently, during the first millennia, the early glacial ice build-up was most likely accompanied by global warming. It was the associated increase of meridional insolation and temperature gradients, which were instrumental in the transition to a glacial."
