Ukraine

Post by Earnest » January 18, 2022, 4:51 am

It's a funny old world. Putin is about to do what Hitler did to Czecho and Poland in the 30s and no one seems to be bothered. Sleepy Joe is impatient with the EU as they can't agree on sanctions if the Russians invade Ukraine while BoJo is focused on parties (as is the UK Media). Mind you, Ben Wallace is sending arms to Ukraine should the Russians do the dirty. Does this mean we are considered US or Ukrainian allies?

Stand by for the big natural gas switch off, it's going to be a cold Winter in Blighty.

looks like a good opportunity to make a quick buck on arms sales. because more weapons means peace ;) . could be good news for the war industry ? . sales must be slow since the loss of iraq and afghanistan. the gas supply cut would greatly improve americas sales too, and the best news is this time only Ukrainians will die. All we need is china to kick off at the same time. that will be interesting taking on china and russia at the same time. but only arms sales this time, no more wasting our troops lives this time.

considering the tech, satellites and sheer fire power russia has i can see a shock and awe start to it. i can't see the russians setting foot in ukraine until Ukraines military are non existant. just look at syria , we faffed about for a couple of years with isis , Russians turn up and obliterate them in weeks . Russians don't muck about. lets hope western leaders keep this in mind. put it this way i would not like to be a Ukrainian tank driver or be sitting in a fixed artillery position if it kicks off. All not good really .

The Canadians have also sent in some Special Forces, they will sort it out.

Showing my ignorance I did not realise Ukraine was such a large country until spending a few minutes on Wiki.

Yes. Not a flat nose or splayed toe in sight.

Let's not get overly excited over Russia's military capabilities. They had their hands full with the problem that is Afghanistan. However, the Ukraine has many more pro-Russia supporters than Afghanistan ever did.

I spent a week in the Ukraine. It is true, there are some very beautiful women in that country if you like blonde hair and blue eyes.

Lala
One would think Russia has rebounded from the war in Afghanistan as they left there 33 years ago in 1989

Blond hair blue eyes but absolutely no sense of humour.had a week in Kiev for a hockey tourny. 50 mad Brits in hockey shirts wigs and various other attire walking the 2km to the rink every day caused chaos to the local population . Mind you the 50 mad tastes of vodka available had the same effect on us

Did you win on the ice and, more importantly, with the blue-eyed blonde females?

Doodoo,
One would think so but they have been licking their wounds since. Maybe they see the Ukraine as the cure.

Hope this helps

How has Russia been licking their wounds? Some details would be helpful for the readers

By manning up against Uncle Sam and interfering in American elections? That takes big balls.

Their American man even got elected.

Yes, so does Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Turkey, the Ukraine and New Zealand among other countries.

Whoops, I am answering for Doodoo. Well, he won't care because it saves him having to do any research.

Hope that helps

The Indians are good at hockey. Not the version you play on ice but the real one.
