Ukraine is a huge country. The huge fertile farm country is mostly unaffected. Farmers are still working. The biggest problem is that they cannot sell their crops. Soon there will be entire countries starving.
India just banned wheat exports due to low yields because of drought. Coupled with Ukrainian wheat being locked in due to the war, better stock up on your Weetabix while you can.

Hopefully Ukraine can look forward to next year's grain crops as something they can trade.
Jeez pratty.
Do you think that that is going to happen. One, they are fighting a massive war so not many people able to harvest the crops. Russia trying to control all in-out shipping so no where to have ability to export. Don't know if other
NATO nations will say enough is enough, but who knows. Who can tell if POO TIN wants to go out in a blasé of glory.

As next year's grain harvest will be around August 2023, hopefully (there's that word again) Ukraine will be well placed by then to export some or all of its crops.

TRADE!!! after the war is ended After WW2 it took 4-5 years for Europe to re-establish itself. As for the Ukraine to Trade one would need farm equipment that as was posted has probably been stolen, Fertilizer that needs Natural Gas to make, transport such as railways that have been destroyed.

I would say 2023 is out of the question

Ukraine never had a problem trading its massive amount of cereal crops before, so why being part of the EU Dictatorship will it be more beneficial to them.
Anyway purely academical, not sure that Poo Tin will leave anything standing if he does not quite achieve his aims. Backdoor control of Europe via oil, gas and food supplies all under Moscow's control.

Putin will keep himself busy destroying road, rail ,runways and bridges .has two effects , stops western heavy weapons and cripples the finances of Ukraine. Its a big country with quite a simple infrastructure. Just reading about the soldiers giving up at the steel works, now prisoners of war in Russian hands, next stop Siberia Gulag.

Hopefully they have all been registered so no funny business will happen , of course the propaganda value for Putin is enormous. Talking of propaganda I like the way the BBC have put it 'evacuated' , in reality they surrendered and will spend the rest of the war as POW's , Putin will take credit for evacuation of the wounded because he's such a kind man . the only ones that will be released quickly are the ones injured so badly that they will never be able to fight again.

They western media is playing down this significant gain for Putin since it's the linchpin of his plan for a coastal border link with Crimea. Odessa will be the next target as he seeks to landlock Ukraine and deny it any access to the Black Sea. I expect more to be made of claims for a Russian-speaking autonomous state of Transnistria. The random acts of violence, currently seen as either terrorism or false flag events, will become more focused and coordinated.

In other news, Wales succeeded in doing what Scotland couldn't and knocked Ukraine out of qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar.

I guess the lads will have to go home and take up arms now. Sad.
