HM Queen Elizabeth II's 96th Birthday

Post by tamada » April 21, 2022, 11:33 am

Happy birthday

Today (21 April) marks the 96th birthday of Her Majesty The Queen. Crowned in 1952 at the age of 25, Queen Elizabeth II is the longest-reigning British monarch.

This year, the Queen will celebrate a #PlatinumJubilee, marking 70 years of service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth.

Please join us in wishing Her Majesty the Queen all the very best!

Yep - Happy Birthday Betty.

Seems to be a good time to reflect on what a great job you have done, and once you get the Platinum Jubilee knees-up out of the way, hand over the keys to Buckenham Palace to Charlie and his Mrs.

Then Australia and NZ can get on with the inevitable move to becoming Republics. 👍

(And change their flags, to delete the red, white and blue thing in the top left corner).

I already see Prince Charles as the boss. And yes, she should soon step aside.

This.

Chit chat about republicanism and abdication is the stuff of another thread.

Happy birthday ma'am and many more of them.

You forget she took an Oath to serve until she dies. That she will not break ever !! So your constand ramblings offering alternative scenarios are annoying. If you understand the written word, her service and dedication to the task which befell her should be viewed as a standard to which we should all try to emulate. Not the whinging rubbish I see almost daily in the media .

No, she didn't actually.

There is nothing in the Oath she took to prevent her from abdicating.

Christ on a bike! What part of, "I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong." is so incomprehensible?

Start another thread if you want to piss and moan about the lame-arsed attempts of your serially elected politicos to make 'independence' part of their manifesto. They have all tried and failed so go there to wave your own, brave new flag and cry freedom. Spare us your post-colonial existential angst.

Well, I hope she had a good birthday, lots of cake and sausages on sticks. Ruddy hard for an old girl to blow out 96 candles, Gawd bless 'er.

listen to scots jack . they have several hundred yrs
experience trying to get their freedom. at least they got that union jack off flag corner. annoying
Showing your absolute lack of knowledge about the Scots.
We were more than happy to be part of the greatest union ever known.
Then Mel Gibson brought out a Hollywood film so full of inaccuracies it almost made his film Patriot seem true. Unfortunately some really ignorant people started to believe in FREEDUMB and so some halfwit politico's started to realise 'We Can Make Money Out Of This' The truth is that less than 35% of so called patriots voted for the SNP in the last Scottish General Election. The Stay in the Union vote was however spread over 3 main Unionist parties. Never the less the SNP did not have an overall majority in the joke called Hollyrood and Nippy (Sturgeon) jumped into bed with a bunch of real nutter's who make the Guardian sound like a right wing rag. Real Scots do not want the break up of the UK only halfwit racist clowns. The vote in the 'once in a generation' in 2014 proved that.
