Flight cancellations at Schiphol

Post by tamada » May 2, 2022, 7:09 pm

The May holidays off to a rough start for the Dutch. Last month BA and Manchester airport in particular were bearing the brunt of pre-Covid traveller numbers and critical lack of staff. It looks like they're prioritizing international transit ops over local and regional flights.

1 runway will be closing at Dubai International Airport DXB from May 9th to June 22nd So Qatar will be using DWC (Al Maktoum International Airport (AKA Dubai World Central) along with some other airlines. This could add extra interest to flights into Thailand and other destinations.

DXB are the call letters for Dubai and not Doha (DOH)
The only storey lines that can be located are for 2021

Pls can you clarify your post

I think woodworker meant Emirates and Dubai. Qatar Airlines are running like clockwork out of DOH (doha).

Mistaken airport name (now corrected), IATA airport designation was correct and until the 9th no flights should be effected anyway.

Information taken from and available at

And more information just now from.
https://simpleflying.com/dubai-internat ... e-details/

The mistake with the name is a confirmation bias as I have a flight through DOH on Qatar during the period mentioned

Meanwhile at MAN, the dire situation due to staff shortages appears unchanged.

The previous airport manager (who quit) mentioned that Covid infections were a contributing factor to earlier staff shortages. Nobody's mentioning that now and it looks like nobody wants to work in, or return to working in that bit of the travel industry. Where have they gone?
