A refreshingly different head of government.
I had a bumper sticker in Texas that read 'Beam me up Scotty'. I often wish I could find one in Udon Thani
Re: Cindy pulls the pin
I very much regret her decision but sympathize with her situation. She was one of the very few politicians who always seemed to be honest - and respected, but did not agree, with the views of her opponents.
Unfortunately there are very few like her.

Stepping down before one's popularity wanes. A novel concept indeed. Shrewd move though as it gives her party oodles of time to select their next leader while watching their popularity numbers in the polls.
What is the NZ opposition like BTW?

I guess she, and the NZ people, must have been doing something right.
After all, for all her green, lefty wokieness, she lasted longer (5+ years) than the last 3 conservative Australian right-blights who occupied The Lodge.
But that shouldn't come as a surprise.

Jacinda infuriated the right-wingers, she was consistently regarded as one of the most respected leaders in the world. Yet she wore a headscarf out of respect to the Muslim community who were reeling after the Christchurch massacre.
Had this massacre taken place in some countries, there would be conspiracies and denials, false flags accusations etc, but New Zealand handled this tragedy under her leadership in a sensible and effective manner, it will possibly be her greatest legacy.
She lead the country in the most difficult times with Covid and its fallout, she stuck to her guns on quarantines, mask-wearing and other policies that saved thousands of New Zealand lives.
In a country that is incredibly male-dominated, she offered a real contrast.

No one will remember her name in years to come and I doubt anyone will have any idea of what if anything she accomplished in Government. One can only hope the Kiwi's can find a more astute Leader. As you can gather, I am not a Fan
Her next job, probably the UN or Human Rights Commission or WHO, like others before her (i.e. HC)

No, I don't judge a book by it's Cover.
I try to read the book, as best I can
I haven't voted in 20 years

You know she must have been doing something right when an unhinged lunatic like Craig Kelly unleashes his vitriol.

And this goes for all Politicians be it the left, the right, the center, the upside down, the inside out and the whatever's,
*Are they there for themselves and their crony colleagues or are they really there to serve the interests of the Country and the people who make that Country what it is, from whatever walks of life"?
"Are the persons of Principle or Persuasion"

Not a fan was your comment, that was a judgement. A very negative comment without doubt.

No, its means I did not support/agree with her political leadership, nor some of policies of the government she headed?
As the self pronounced Clairvoyant on the Forum, you can read or interpret it, however you wish.

Why am I surprised, that nearly every Post by W, is almost immediately followed by a one liner Post from you.jackspratt wrote: ↑January 20, 2023, 9:26 pmpipo demonstrates his lack of interest in bringing about change in a system he clearly disdains ....... by not voting.
