Serbian teen murders nine at an elementary school

Post by Laan Yaa Mo » May 4, 2023, 2:44 pm

Here we go again. Eight students and one adult were murdered by a 13-year old boy in Belgrade. Apparently, the kid had a list of children he wanted dead, and used his father's gun to kill and wound.

Serbia's education minister has resigned after the shootings that left 17 dead over two days.

Perhaps a different President may be required - this one seems to be a bit on the nose. :fart:

I can't read the Times article although other sources, perhaps of Serbian origin, describe him as a populist and progressive. This what is often said about the leaders of Bulgaria and Romania, who it turns out, might be classed as gangsters. I don't know anything about the leaders of Croatia, Slovenia and Moldavia. The title of the NYT article suggests that Vucic may not be the man for the job of disarming the population. I read somewhere that he was in hospital last month.

What's his relationship with Putin like? Or the US? That can flavour media stories about leaders.
