Tasmania: Sports and Politics
Tasmania has been offered a place in the AFL next season; however, that invitation is dependent on a stadium getting built in Hobart to house the 2-3,000 fans who might have a passing interest in this brand of football that rivals basketball in its final scores. The Devils, of course, scare the heck out of the other members of the AFL who fear domination by Tasmania. It seems likely the teams contributed to a fund to help two Liberal parliamentarians, Lara Alexander and John Tucker, quit the Liberal Party and sit as independents. This has thrown the Liberals into a minority position. Why did these two politicians quit? They stated it is because they need to have transparency over the building of the stadium in Hobart at a time when housing and health are more important concerns in Tasmania. Yeah, sure. When has a politician from any party cared about the people? This is about the team owners in the AFL scared about Tasmania winning championship after championship.

This is interesting as my sister lives in Rosny across the other side of the water.
