I just changed a grand in 20 pound notes at BKK bank. They gave me back 3 notes as were slightly torn on the edge. Previously I went to kungthai bank.He trew me back about 300 pound.Said not clean! But really were OK. Just normal. So I took the lot back. I'll put in my BKK account now Seems banks here only want new bank notes.NOT marked, written on, soiled

its the same for all exchangers no part torn written on bank notes all over Thailand bit of a joke when lots of Thai bank notes have the same thing and they are accepted I have known Thais get away with it in busy resorts they have taken them in saying customer give me and they have changed them TIT

They’ve been picky on markings & tears for ages. All our local branches in the UK have stopped issuing new notes on request which means we always end up getting some rejections. Strangely I’ve always found Krungthai to accept the most soiled notes
