Middlesbrough will be a team to watch to make the play offs this season in the Championship.

New manager Chris Wilder is starting to make a difference after a miserable start to the season.
He has permission to go into the transfer market in January from tight arse Chairman Steve Gibson.

Needs to buy about 3 players especially a good striker.

I fancy them to end up about 4th or 5th at the end of the season.

Yes agree ..what a difference a decent manager makes ..Wilder did great at Sheff United .. Boros old gaffa Niel Warnock was/is the longest serving EFL manager having been in various jobs for decades .. a great guy loved his quips and a straight shooter never scared to say how bad the officials or his own players were ..alas old school and Wilder is proving a big hit .

Outside chance of a playoff spot .. but not sure how they would cut the mustard with the EPL big boys

Accrington put 5 past a stuttering Fleetwood's 1 at the Wham.

Peterhead threw away a 2 goal lead and ended up sharing the points at fellow bottom-dwellers Clyde.

Fort William managed a 2-all draw on a mid-season friendly with local amateurs South Lochaber Thistle. The latter were just knocked out of the 4th round of the prestigious and hallowed Scottish Cup by New Farm Loch.

But the big, BIG news is the long-vacant managers seat at the Fort is no longer so with the appointment of the former Preston, Everton, Mongolia, Accrington Stanley and Belgium scout/coach Shadab Iftikhar. Looks like Scunny totally missed the open goal by NOT securing this guy who has worked extensively with Roberto Martinez and already seems to know his neeps from his tatties.

Have the Acca's missed out on appointing a mega coach ....... Michael Carrick, who has worked extensively with the likes of Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and really knows his titties and his totty? He has also got an ubeaten record in both Domestic & European football as a manager :-k

'bout time they stopped all this faffin' about .....
16 teams ........ one pot ......... No restrictions .......... draw is "as they are pulled out"

with 4 or 5 teams from ONE COUNTRY a regular occurrence now and no reason that two teams shouldn't play each other twice (they can in the final anyway) it would be much more exiting to have an "open" draw, although I dare say the "big hitters" and TV co's would cringe at the idea of Man U v Man C or a Madrid derby in round of 16 and RB Salzburg getting through on the back of a lucky draw to the final

With up to four EPL and Championship games already shelved due to team covid infections, how long before the lower leagues are shuttered again? Winter approaches and the all-important cash cow EPL will take precedent.
