What a loser. He really deserves some jail time for that record or for the next eye gauge or nasty punch or bite.

On the subject of misdemeanour's...when are they going to clamp down on soccer style play acting to milk a penalty and/or a card?
Yoann Huget's apparently being pole axed by a push in the chest by a Bath player and then rolling around on the floor holding his face being the latest example.
Even Brian Habana has tried it on pretending he had been tackled high.
In both cases no action was taken and time wasted looking at a review.
Both should have been given a yellow card with 10 minutes to consider what they had done and the opposing team given a penalty.

Good to see Danny Cipriani back in the England fold however I can't see Lancaster's logic in having four fly halves in the squad. Danny's forte I think is he, like Kurtley Beale and Quaid Cooper, likes to play the game in front of him not a prescription from the training ground. Its up to him now to prove in training he is better than Ford, Farrell and Myler.

To take up your point GT I think rugby is better than most sports when it comes to punishment for those players who cross the line. Football is an absolute disgrace and cricket is moving in the same direction. Gobby David Warner is a fight waiting to happen.

European Champions Rugby Union Quarter-final draw (to be played 3/4/5 April)

Racing Metro v Saracens

Toulon v Wasps

Clermont Auvergne v Northampton

Leinster v Bath

The first time four English clubs have made the knockout stages of Europe's top tier competition since the 1997-98 season.
With that draw I wonder if Football's Sepp Blatter had an influence as to the English side's fixtures.

Yes, very much so. May be it will happen soon in the cricket World Cup final.

Belgium must be a very crazy place socksy. How are Scotland going to go in the Six Nations?

Fourth or fifth I think GT - played well against the frog's and ran them close but gave away too many penalties, at the same time we scored a well worked try.

Ruled out through injury! Domestic incident?

Italy's Martin Castrogiovanni is set to miss Saturday's Six Nations match against Scotland at Murrayfield after being bitten on the nose by a dog.
The 33-year-old Toulon prop needed 14 stitches in a wound inflicted while playing with a friend's dog.
The Italian rugby federation said it was a "slight domestic incident". [-X

French forward Pascal Pape has been banned for 10 weeks after kneeing Jamie Heaslip in the back
Heaslip suffered damage to 3 vertebrae and will also miss at least the game against England this weekend.
Mike Brown also looks likely to miss the game as he has not fully recovered from concussion.

The conclusion of the six nations Saturday 21/03/2015

RBS SIX NATIONS CHAMPIONSHIP
12:30 Italy v Wales
14:30 Scotland v Ireland
17:00 England v France

It should be a three-way fight between England, Ireland and Wales for the Six Nations title on Saturday, although France still have an outside chance.
The top three are locked on six points with three wins apiece, while England's points difference of +37 puts them first, ahead of Ireland's +33 and Wales' +12.
France are fourth with four points and a points difference of +22.
Philippe Saint-Andre's side could still steal the title if Wales and Ireland lose and Les Bleus then beat England by a margin of eight points or more, but it looks a remote possibility.
If teams are level on points, and match-points difference, then England are likely to win the Championship on tries scored, having crossed 11 times to Ireland's four and Wales' five. In the highly unlikely event this was also level come Saturday night, the trophy would be shared.

The standings make this final round really interesting. If OT is having a tough day, this too might bore him. I hope not.

He probably still remembers missing watching the Five nations when he was a young lad in the early 1940s ............ \:D/

I don't understand why the final six nation's matches today are not the same as the EPL football, with the concluding games all having the same kick off times on the final day to avoid team's having advantages/disadvantages by knowing the results of preceding games. It also adds to the drama. This needs to be addressed by the RFU's.

Whether you agree or disagree about the timing of the games it certainly made for good viewing.

Italy 20 Wales 61
Scotland 10 Ireland 40
England 55 France 35

So congratulations to Ireland on being the 6 Nations Champions...again

Streuth that was close. A great tournament. OT will be able to chat about this with his great great grand-kids if he's still coherent enough to hold their interest. :D

I've just about finished my teasing OT ............... \:D/

Well done to Ireland - I suppose my lot, the whipping boy's of the tournament contributed quite a bit to the tournament ie the large points tally racked up in various games. Total embarassment.

"A government drive to boost participation in rugby in English schools is ill-conceived and risks children getting seriously hurt, public health doctors have warned.

Prof Allyson Pollock and colleagues at Queen Mary University of London say the contact sport is too dangerous.

They do not want an outright ban but say the sport must change and safeguards are needed."

In NZ I reckon you'd be a loon to encourage a son older than say 14 to play rugby. Too many schoolboys are built like a brick shxt house. They're massive.

I don't sit by these lads on a bus. Not enough room. Fortunately there are lots of slim Asian babes to sit next to on a bus. We choose our immigrants well.

European Challenge Cup final: Anyone wishing to watch (in French) can do so on this link. Scroll no further than the link if you dont want to see the result.

Well done Gloucester despite playing most of the second half with 14 men. A tight game with the boot of Laidlaw over his former understudy at Edinburgh Hidalgo-Clyne being the difference.

Edinburgh (6) 13
Try: Ford Con: Hidalgo-Clyne Pens: Hidalgo-Clyne 2

Gloucester (13) 19
Try: Twelvetrees Con: Laidlaw Pens: Laidlaw 4

Todays game European Rugby Champions Cup final
Twickenham Kick-off: 17:00 BST

Two Englishmen and two Welshmen are set to start Saturday's all-French European Champions Cup between Clermont Auvergne and Toulon at Twickenham.
Wales full-back Leigh Halfpenny and England flanker Steffon Armitage are named in Toulon's starting line-up.
England full-back Nick Abendanon and Wales centre Jonathan Davies have been selected to start for Clermont.

Toulon are aiming for their third successive European title and may be just too good for Clermont.
