Zidane wrote:Christian Benteke scored the only goal as Liverpool edged Sunderland 1-0.That result leaves Sunderland in deep trouble,7 points adrift from safety.
Their match on Saturday at home to Aston Villa is crucial to them if they want to get out of the relegation zone sooner rather than later.
In contrast,Liverpool are now level on points with Manchester United and must harbour hopes of grabbing a Champions League spot. They are the early kick off, away to West Ham,at 7.45pm Thai on Saturday.
...So It's " Cam On You " Ammers " on Saturday for Me...

English Premier League fixtures,2nd January 2016.Kick off Thai times.

19:45 West Ham v Liverpool
22:00 Arsenal v Newcastle
22:00 Leicester v AFC Bournemouth
22:00 Man Utd v Swansea
22:00 Norwich v Southampton
22:00 Sunderland v Aston Villa
22:00 West Brom v Stoke
00:30 Watford v Man City

An absolute 9 pointer,if there was such a thing,at the Stadium of Light, although Villa need Champions League form for the rest of the season to survive.
Members watching these games at bars or restaurants at the weekend are asked to dress appropriately and not cause offence to our Thai hosts by wearing Manchester City or Chelsea tops.....Everton tops are OK because no-one has heard of them ! :D
Only joking ;) ....a Happy New Year to all on the footie forum.I hope your teams all have never ending success during 2016....I mean that most sincerely, folks ! :^o

Last nights results....

West Ham v Liverpool 2-0
Arsenal v Newcastle 1-0
Leicester v AFC Bournemouth 0-0
Man Utd v Swansea 2-1
Norwich v Southampton 1-0
Sunderland v Aston Villa 3-1
West Brom v Stoke 2-1
Watford v Man City 1-2

In summary.....Arsenal go clear at the top but an unconvincing display.....Villa can look forward to local derbies against Wolves and Birmingham next season....First win in 9 for United, better but not too convincing.....Aguero gets a late winner for City.

Two decent looking matches tonight (Thai times)
Crystal Palace v Chelsea (8.30pm),Everton v Tottenham (11.00pm)
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Bit late, but only just saw this. No complaints from me. Palace missing some key players and didn't have enough to compete after the first 25? minutes. The 2nd half was a stroll for Chelsea and media comments suggest perhaps the best they've shown for some time (shame! ), so maybe not too much of a surprise result. Who scored the first goal was going to be important. And Palace need a top class goalscorer!
