A bit of British interest in the Champions League first qualifying round draw:

The New Saints (Wales) v Europa (Gibraltar)

Linfield (NI) v Sp La Fiorita (San Marino)

Celtic will play the winners of the first round, Linfield of Northern Ireland or Sp La Fiorita of San Marino, in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.

Ireland's Dundalk will play Norway's Rosenborg.

Those matches will be played 11 & 12 and 18 & 19 July - before the school holidays start!

The new saints of Wales overcame Europa FC of Gibraltar after being behind going into this leg. It took them to added time though & was after the home side had 2 men sent off...You probably have to think that they need drastic improvement to reach the group stages..
Hibs sailed through winning both legs..
Linfield secured a money-spinning Champions League tie against Celtic away in San Marino.

Disappointing for Rangers.. The Luxembourg part timers deserved their 2 second half goals to go through, It was the home sides first ever win in Europe & contained the second & third goal that they have ever managed in the competition. It does not bode well for a challenge on Celtic this year!!!

I think we are all desperate Bob, (except the Monkey Makams), but even allowing for the fact that Maltese football is probably at a higher level than Scottish football at present there IS a difference between Hibernian and Hibernians

Newcastle are so desperate for the season to start they have even gone and signed a new player :-$

Its the pre-season.Time to take a break from the pressures of footie for a while. You two guys are only getting yourselves into a state ! :D
But one bit of news.....not really European Cups but United are in the Champions League and Everton the Europa League,I spose ! :-s

Wayne Rooney to move back to Everton on a free transfer by the end of this week.Roman Lukaku to move to United as part of the deal. Not sure how much for but crazy money like 90 million GBP is being mentioned ! :yikes:
I'm not Lukakus biggest fan but the deal for Morata from Real Madrid seems to be stalling ?
Reaction from 747man later......

See you soon ;)

Celtic firmly in charge after the first leg in a game more memorable for items being thrown from the crowd than the football... :(

Aberdeen crashed out of the Europa League when they were beaten 2-0 by Appollon Limassol in Cyprus, losing 3-2 on aggregate.
However a Dominic Calvert-Lewin goal ensure that Everton progress to the final qualifying round 2-0 over MFK Ruzemberok on aggregate.
In a game of few chances at either end,a Morgan Schneiderlin header was The Toffees only other chance.
