Uefa League of Nations

Post by BobHelm » January 24, 2018, 5:15 pm

I had seen this mentioned in the reports about Scotland's lack of success in finding a new manager, but had no idea what it was about...
Now I do & I am not sure what to think!! :D
I guess if it means a complete end to International 'friendlies' then that could only be a good thing.....if it is just a new money making tournament on top of what already exists then I am not so sure..
Pop along here to see a short video of what it is about..
https://www.uefa.com/uefanationsleague/video/index.html#/

The draw takes place very shortly....

They just wont accept the fact that NOBODY wants their stupid International Micky Mouse matches.

The Fans don't ......... attendance figures and TV figures should tell them that.

The Players dont ........or why would so many feign injuries or take early International retirement

The Managers don't ....... they are always complaining about not having the players to work with during Int breaks.

The Club's dont .......... Their highly paid and very delicate assets are risking injury every time they go.

The Sports Injury people dont ...... they are complaining that the players play TOO MUCH football

In fact the ONLY ones that do want them are the FIFA/UEFA gravy train

When will the top leagues have enough bottle to say enough is enough (in the same way the NHL told the IIHF) we ARE NOT releasing our players for these International matches, go play them with Nat League North/South Isthmian League etc etc players if you must play them

The players are contracted to the clubs and it is them that should tell them where and when to play

Bet Mr Wenger will be over the moon to see that his new Armenian superstar will be playing on pitches in Gibraltar, Liechtenstein & Macedonia. in addition to the wonderful surfaces in Armenia for his home games ...... at least a twisted ankle waiting to happen if not something more serious

If I read the rules correctly, the winner of each league qualifies for Euro 2020. If you look at the teams in League D, it would be worthwhile Scotland getting relegated from C to qualify for the next Euros. Ridiculous!!
