Last night Lincoln beat the Mackems 2 -0 .. making them favs for the League 1 to Championship play off final and possibly yet another season in L1 for the sleeping giants  from the North East

Tonight Tranmere play Morecambe in the L2 playoff .. i would like to see the winner of this match up get promoted tho must say Newport have had a very good season and have some cracking crazy fans... worst ground in all the leagues is Newport its a ----- with a terrible playing surface.

Lincoln City 2 Sunderland 0....Lincoln will be well pleased with that result.

The reformed Macclesfield FC have been accepted into the North West Counties Premier League for next season which is the 5th tier of the non league pyramid.

As regards the National League, Wrexham are in a play off place with 2 games to go. I think I am correct in saying if they don't go up this season next season will be their 12th in the National League.
The title is between Sutton United and Torquay with Sutton the hot favourites to go up. Stockport and Hartlepool are vying for the second automatic semi final play off place.
The hopefuls for the rest of the play off spots go down to 10th place.

Team, Played, Points.
1.Sutton United 40 81

2.Torquay 40 78
3.Stockport 40 73

4.Hartlepool 40 73
5.Notts County 40 67
6.Wrexham 40 64
7.Chesterfield 40 63 last play off spot.

8.Bromley 40 63
9.Eastleigh 39 62
10.Halifax 40 62
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

League 2 play off first leg.... Tranmere 1 Morecambe 2
I was surprised to read that Tranmere sacked their manager three days after the league finished, although they did only win 2 out of their last 11 matches.... a dodgy run and your out nowadays, just ask Jose Mourinho :D

SPL play off final first leg..Dundee 2 Kilmarnock 1

Scottish League 1 play off final 2nd leg...
Dumbarton 0 Edinburgh City 1 (aggregate 3-2)
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Last night .. Blackpool 3 Oxford 3 .. Blackpool progress to the L1 play off final and will face either Lincoln Imps or the Mackems who play today.

If Lincoln get promoted it will be an excellent effort over the last few years .. coming from non league to the Championship.. very nice city Lincoln lots of history including DM being crowned North of England pool champion at the Conservative club ..37 yrs ago.

^ Agree on the Bees hopefully going up. The Cherries finished 10 points adrift of them in regular season and it would be a shocker if they qualified instead. Both teams with a lot to play for should make Saturday's second leg a good one to watch. Is it on t' telly?
Twenty minutes of regulation remaining and currently Brentford tied 1-1 with 10-man Bournemouth in a torrid affair. Aggregate is 2-2 with away goals not counting in EPL playoffs.

The half-time opinion from the Guardian...

"Where to start with that first half? There were two goals, a red card, at least 48 penalty appeals, not to mention controversy, drama, desperation, petulance, cheating, needle and even a bit of football. It was largely unedifying yet hugely entertaining, not unlike those stand-offs outside JJs nightclub in the 1990s.

Arnaut Danjuma scored his second goal of the tie, running the length of the field to punish Brentford for leaving nobody back at a corner. But a debatable handball against Lloyd Kelly allowed Ivan Toney to equalise with a nerveless penalty, and then Brentford alumnus Chris Mepham was sent off for a professional foul on Bryan Mbuemo.

After all that, Bournemouth are a goal up in the tie and Brentford are a man up on the day. But don’t rule out more red cards."

Maybe not a good one to watch.

OK, the Bees are thru to the final despite (or maybe with help from) the Bournemouth keeper doing his best to delay the game as they protected their lead. At one point near the end he was caught offside. Probably had visions of being an extra-time hero like Allison.

the L2 playoff final will be .. Morecambe v Newport .. 2 of the worst football stadiums with Newport just shading it with a terrible pitch as well... Newport do have some cracking fans ..they are bonkers.

Brenford v Swansea championship .. camorn the Bees

Blackpool v Lincoln .. L1 .. Gotta go for the Imps as its LINCOLNSHIRE my home county ..thi i fancy Blackpool to beat em

More Cambe v Newport L2 .. no real preference , Newport is bigger a ----- whilst Morecambe nearer for Scunny thousands of traveling fans to get to.

Reading up on the current situation at my beloved Scunthorpe Utd and its bleak .. a hand full of mediocre first team players remain and 17 released of turned down contracts .. left back Mason Omally and striker Ryan Loft are the stand out remainers..total rebuild required and im not convinced Niel Cox is the right man to do it.

Well done to Sutton United who have won the National League and are in the Football League for the first time in their 125 year history, after beating Hartlepool 3-0.
And Kelty Hearts are celebrating being in the Scottish League for the first time after beating the bottom League 2 side, Brechin, on aggregate.

Don't know if this belongs in grass roots footie or the immigration threads :D

Anyway an immigration /football case in Thailand from earlier in the week.....

Top of the list of cases was that of an Ivory Coast footballer called Mr Dicko Abou who was a striker for a Thai football team in League 3.
An informant told the IB that things were not quite right and so it proved.
The biometrics system and subsequent fingerprinting after the suspect was arrested at a condo in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, revealed that Mr Dicko Abou was in fact just Mr Dicko.
Mr Dicko was sent back to Ivory Coast and banned for ten years by Songkhla immigration after they arrested him in 2018 on 774 day overstay.
He could not legally return to Thailand until 2028.
This did not deter Mr Dicko who just added Abou to his name, changed his birthdate from 1992 to 1998 and got a new passport in Africa.
This fooled the Thai's much vaunted 2.2 billion baht Biometrics system, notes Thaivisa.
Mr Dicko will now be deported again.

Naew Na reported that he had been earning 50,000 baht a month playing football.
Information on Facebook said that in January 2020 BTU United signed Ibrahim Abou Dicko from Bangkok FC.
The previous season the "21 years old Ivorian was the Fire Bulls' top-scorer" with 15 goals in 25 appearances.
Dicko also played for Muangthong United FC, Pattani FC and Nara United and represented the under-17 Ivorian team, suggested the information uncovered.(Thai Visa)

Congratulations to Brentford btw, they deserve their chance in the EPL. 👍

A good night for S.W. London with Sutton United making it to League 2, and the Bees getting up to the Premiership. Chelsea did all right. too.

L1 playoff

Blackpool 2 Lincoln 1 ..

Not even the bonus of a first minute own goal giving Lincoln the lead wasnt enough for them to build on.

Newport v Morecambe later today ............ the last fixture of the English football season 20/21 season..a season to forget for Scunny ... and more so Grimsby :-#

Brentford (finished 3rd)

Morecombe (finished 4th but all top 3 up automatically)
