I heard a rumour that the coach/manager of the Canadian soccer team is a Newcastle fan and is from that area.

https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/john ... up-1543846
He was born in County Durham and worked for the mackams many years ago ...... after that you just need to get as far away as possible ......... and yer cant get much further than managing the New Zealand Womens team, followed by Canadian Women and now Canadian men

With a larger number of footballers boasting of double-barreled names, would it be possible to field a complete team of double-barreled ball biffers?
The attack and midfield would not be a problem, but the defence and goalkeeper might be rather difficult. I would just love to hear all of the foreign commentators trying to get theit tongue around 'and Smith-Rowe lays a fine pass to Hudson-Adoi who leaves it for Oxlade-Chamberlain who lays it off for Calvert-Lewin. By the time that they have got their tongue around that, the opposition have scored two goals and had a man sent off.

Only if you allowed David De Gea as your goalkeeper.
Ok for wing backs Alexander-Arnold, Walker-Peters, Wan-Bissaka, plus others, but CB would be a big problem Troost-Ekong at Watford would need one of the Man City kids as a partner probably Mbete-Tatu

I reckon the longest name was Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink who played as a striker for Hull, Celtic and Netherlands.

Celtic only signed him coz they thought they could make money on his shirts by charging per letter to have it printed

Semi final for that last slot tonight at Hampden.

Nobody's carrying it in Thailand but there's ways and means. If you have a Sky subscription and a VPN, you're otherwise a day pass on NOWTV is about 12 quid.

Luckily, I didn't stay up for THAT. When you have the home fans booing within the first half-hour...

England's worst defeat in 28 years and worst home defeat in 96 years just five months ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.
