Wasnt it Southgate that "choked" under the penalty pressure years ago that started Englands Penalty failures?

England now have several players of true World Class, who continually fail to produce when required because the manager is incapable of achieving the same ceiling as the players.

That's now 24 games against sides ranked equal/above England at the time ..... how many wins FOUR

One wonders why credit is not simply given to the winners and recognise everybody tried.
Because it's the ruddy French, Whistler.

Things ain't that bad, we lost to a good team, dry your eyes, lads, and move on. It's not as though we lost to Wales or Scotland, is it.

A very valid point, forgive me.

I'm sorry, Alan - but you can tell me until the cows come home.

As you are a self-confessed Everton tragic, your credibility on all things soccer is non-existent. [-(

Weird notion #1: AFAIK, Southgate hasn't taken a penalty kick in decades, if ever. It's the clean-shaven chaps in shorts and boots that get paid to do that.

Weird notion #2: These English "World Class" players mostly ply their trade against each other each week in the EPL. Something may be overrated or they're a victim of their own hype?

Weird notion #3: Maybe the FIFA calculator needs a new battery and they erroneously swapped England's 4th place with Croatia's 12th?

British North America would have beaten the lot in addition to Northern Ireland and Eire. However, Jersey would have been a tougher soccer nut to crack.

As I said, decades ago.

What is it with this perpetual 'Jock' deflection? The Englander's inferiority complex isn't going away is it?

What's the new tune again? "Three lions on my shirt, huge chips on each shoulder..."

The two finalists are now known, and it should be a cracking game.

I am taken way back to a match at the National Stadium, Hua Mark. Thailand took on Manchester United (I was - of course - supporting Thailand. But the rest of the stadium were supporting whichever team were attacking.

I will probably do this too. I am a European at heart, but it would be great to see Messi holding the trophy. This will definitely make him the greatest footballer of our time, while the arch-narcissist Ronaldo skulks in the background.

This will also be the first World Cup in which I have any interest in the 3rd place battle. We all love Morocco for amazing (spaced-out?) holidays, but now they have shown the world that they can play football too.

Argentina 5-3 (after penalties).

Loris is flakey whereas Martinez has been really good at diving the right way.

0-0 at full time.

1-1 after penalties.

The FIFA puuyais decide to do a Zoom call into KP - because of his self proclaimed total disinterest, and therefore neutrality - for a coin toss...... wait for it .......

Vive Les Bleus.

Not the dream final fir any Englander to choose a winning team from .. and i remain totally impartial .. would be a great way to cap Messi career and wipe the snigger off Mbappes face when Kane skyed his pen.

Really as KP has repeatedly stated on his many many posts on this thread no interest at all .. and niw fir the final.i have to agree.

The final 50 50 game .could be an exiting goal.fest 4-3 or 3-2 or they may.cancel each other out for a dull 0-0 then one goal will.win so im going for 1-0 aet to one ort tother.

Morrocco have bean the highlight of what has been IMO a mediocee tournanent .. points to note progression.in the game by African nations and even more so Asian re Japs n Korea.

Disapointing .. Belgium , Germany and Scotland ..oh hang on the Jocks missed the flight.. AGAIN

In my ,mind the whole exercise was just how stupid FIFA behaved in choosing a Gulf State and thereby changing dates and times just to accommodate a system steeped in Corruption from the word GO.
Wha will happen top all the infrastructure BUILT by imported almost slave labour , a complete waste of money as I suspect at least 75 % of the Population of Qatar will never play football again or even watch a match outside their Air-Conditioned homes

Not talking about the abuse of the Foreign workers etc, another story hidden from International View . truly amazing that a Game conceived in a field in England has morphed into a international corrupt entity that scams millions each year because that in my book is what it is. Football excellence count on your two hands players that are truly excellent, seen better on council fields of the UK every week where the true spirit of the SPORT really lives and breathes.
