They haven't accomplished that feat yet.
Oh but they are. The top 4 are home and hosed. When you follow football, you will understand that, statistically, an inferior nation (say, for example Scotland) will only rarely beat a superior nation (let's say, England). When they do, that's commonly referred to as "giant killing" and only happens when there is little at stake.

The US, Canada, Mexico and Panana are presently footballing titans in comparison to Jamaica, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Honduras and the chances of successive "giant killings" over the course of the next few rounds of fixtures are minimal.

Hope that helps.
Having explained that, I still have a soft spot for Iceland's giant killers during some inconsequential 2016 tournament that momentarily overshadowed the Brexit vote.

Some members might have been more entertained if the comparison was England and Germany rather than Scotland and England.

So it's Wales v Austria, with the winners playing either Scotland or Ukraine.
Perhaps the gods & Gary Speed (on 10th anniv of his death) were looking down on Wales and giving them an easy draw.
Italy drawn in same section as Portugal so Qatar will lose either CR7 & his mates or the european champs b4 the comp starts

That's a tough one for Scotland against Ukraine but if they manage to do it, then beating Austria in Vienna (again) should see them in Qatar.

Anyone know where this 'Wales' team come from? Are they like over there somewhere in the Balkans?

I can understand how the Scots struggle against the English. The English population is much larger and English Bloody FOOTBALL !!!!! is rolling in money. But I don't understand why the English are so hopeless against the Germans. On the soccer field the English struggle to live up to the money and the hype. We should have a German Bloody FOOTBALL !!!!! thread.

Plenty successful German managers in the EPL too and that's not including the perfectly usable ones that get the sack.

Tammy ..are you happy with the draw , you reckon the Jocks can beat Ukraine ?? .. at least your in with a shout and not already out as has happened so many times in the past.

Im hoping you beat UKR and set up a decider against Wales who should beat Austria .. saying that could be Austria V Ukr its very close with all 4 teams.

Portugal - Italy .. i would rather let the Italians stay home then CR7 mob but ..dont rule out Turkey in the face of Christmas  :?

Agreed, all close encounters historically. For 3 of the teams anyway.

Ukraine don't have anything special to counter Scotland's otherwise unremarkable abilities. I think the Hampden crowd will be a huge factor so I hope the weather's nice and the support come out in droves. Then on to the next game.

It was only two months ago that Scotland reignited this WC challenge when they narrowly beat Austria in Vienna. The teams do have a recent, even history but it's not going to be as close this time. Scotland's 2-0 win to put the nails in the Austrian WC coffin.

Wales have pushed Austria aside with a 2-1 victory. Now they await the winner of Scotland's rescheduled game against Ukraine in June to see who eventually goes to Qatar.

There would have to be a serious implosion for Canada AND the US to not seal qualification this weekend, no? As long as nobody invades anybody.

I heard a rumour that the coach/manager of the Canadian soccer team is a Newcastle fan and is from that area.
