Bet the Mexicans have a few more kicks on frame in the rematch
Yes. Furthermore, the treacherous Mexicans will probably schedule the game at a sky-high, heavily polluted stadium at temperatures approaching 50 degrees C. The cheats will do anything to try and carve out a soccer victory over the clean cut, innocent Canadian team. The referee will be bribed by the drug cartels. Look for brave Canada, despite the odds, to pull off a tie.
5-0 followed by a wound-licking. At least you should be spared the ignominy of the government enquiry that follows every single outing by England's underachievers.

Where as those scheming Canucks will plan to play any matches at -6C and snowing. Teams will be required to have bonfires at central locations to warm themselves and prevent frostbite. Officials have been issued skates to keep up with players
Even with Canadas experience in playing in the winter conditions they were only able to outplay the Mexicans 2 to 1 a dismal showing
Officials were also bribed with Free Passes to allow them to jump Drive Thru lines at Tim Hortons
An outstanding showing by the Canucks who braved the elements to keep Mexico scoreless until the last two minutes of the match. By that time, the Mexicans were outfitted in parkas. Anyhow, it demonstrates that talent wins out in the end.

By the way, the Havana Cuba Sugar Kings used to start fires in their dugout to keep warm when they visited the Toronto Maple Leaf baseball team in early April in the mid'50s to early 60s.

1-1 at worst. the Canucks have too much talent on offence to be shutout. They aren't Everton, you know.

Canada handled Mexico 2-1 in a snow-lined field at Commonwealth Stadium. With the victory, Canada has vaulted into first place in their group. 50,000 fans weathered the -9 C temperatures to witness the game in Edmonton.

WOW thats a shock ...such a small third world footballing nation like Canadada da beating the Mexxies .. WELL DONE and also spare a thought for the fans some of whom are still thawing out.

So some real footballing minnows may be attending the WC finals .. Canadadada , the Jocks and maybe Wales ..good luck to all .. BTW ENGLAND WILL DEFINATELY BE THERE.

DM
Speaking of minnows, how many Scunthorpians will be representing England at the World Cup? Edmonton fans are a hardy lot and will not need to thaw out. Of course their ears may have fallen off, and they might be missing a few toes owing to frostbite, but that's a minor thing.

True, but Canada has an outstanding goalkeeper, whatever his name is, and their offence will dominate the ball leaving the Mexicans little opportunity to get their offence into gear. Don't forget Canada is ahead of the U.S., Mexico and Panama in this most competitive of divisions. The press is already predicting that with a little bit of luck, Canada should finish no worse than fourth, and the top three automatically get to go to the Cup final in the god-awful furnace that is Qatar. It's going to be as hot as blazes over there, which will be a hindrance for Scotland, Canada, Wales and Iceland.

The Mexxies did play in snow shoes and the heating was turned off in their dressing room according to my sauces at the game .
Quite right. That is why the game was scheduled for Edmonton. The weather and conditions might have given Canada a slight advantage over the Aztecs.

"Slight advantage" My A_s
"Tuesday's match in Edmonton will feature a temperature of 19 degrees Fahrenheit around kickoff with winds ranging from 10-20 MPH. Real-feel temperatures will be in the single digits.

Oh yeah, and the forecast calls for 4-9 inches of snow to cover the artificial turf of Commonwealth Stadium before sundown.

Ever play on turf in sub-freezing conditions? Frozen turf offers all the amenities of a wet slab of concrete while also causing debilitating pain in your knees and shins."

I dont believe the Mexicans go and pracice in conditions presented in Edmonton

Tough. I've played Canadian football in conditions like that. You adapt. Can you?

Hope this helps.

Iceland are already out, to be followed, in March, by the 2 countries from the more bleak parts of the UK.

Canada should be very proud to qualify ahead of such eminent nations.

The Mexican players said that the extreem cold was not a problem, they were more worried by the piles of frozen moose sh*t placed all along the Canuck goal line to help the (to quote uncle) "Canada has an outstanding goalkeeper, whatever his name is," maintain his record of only missing "one shot on frame"

Yes, it was another good strategic move; however, even the Canuck goalie was overcome by the stench and vacated the area in the last two minutes of the tilt thereby leading to the lone Mexican marker.

Your misadventures in the cold are way off topic, doodoo. Next time, at he very least bring a source of heat for the tent.

Hope this helps

Oh but they are. The top 4 are home and hosed. When you follow football, you will understand that, statistically, an inferior nation (say, for example Scotland) will only rarely beat a superior nation (let's say, England). When they do, that's commonly referred to as "giant killing" and only happens when there is little at stake.

The US, Canada, Mexico and Panana are presently footballing titans in comparison to Jamaica, Costa Rica, El Salvador and Honduras and the chances of successive "giant killings" over the course of the next few rounds of fixtures are minimal.

Hope that helps.

Some members might have been more entertained if the comparison was England and Germany rather than Scotland and England.
