ARE YOU WINDIES IN DISGUISE

Afgans 190 - 4 Scotland 60 - 10

I see Ben Stokss will be in th ashes series, with cricket folk comparing it to CR7 teturning to Man Utd
I think that means they expect it to be 5 - 0 then :-k

A totally awesome, record-breaking thumping, eh? Can't ever take that one away from the Scots. Well, maybe not until next time.

Difficult for Scotland to produce a decent team as anyone showing the slightest talent gets whisked South of thr border quickly ..... Mike Denness and Peter Such during my main cricket watching era

I see Bristol Benny is back for the ashes =D> Great to see the best playing and hopefully performing for the paying spectators. I think it's his third tour and he's yet to play in a winning test - 5 zip in 2013/15 and 4 zip 2017/18.

"In what turned out to be a major surprise, wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock made himself unavailable for selection in South Africa's important T20 World Cup 2021 Group 1 Super 12 stage match against West Indies in Dubai on Tuesday. South Africa captain Temba Bavuma at the toss said de Kock has made himself unavailable due to personal reasons. Attacking opener Reeza Handricks replaced the left-handed de Kock in South Africa's XI."

Wow someone with the balls to tell the South African Cricket Authorities where to stick their "you MUST take the knee" directive, and this coming days after NUFC told their fans to disregard "kick it outs" directive that they must not wear tea towels, as it was seen as what it was a bit of fun and NOT a "racist gesture", and it DID NOT offend the Saudi owners.
How refreshing to see the world standing up against "being offended for someone else"
PC brigade on the run ????

Breaking news, statto - Quinton de Kock and Newcastle United are not "the world".

Taking the knee is symbolism, highlighting a long overdue problem.

But that is not just about (particularly South African) cricket, so let's stay on topic.

Breaking news Jack, taking the knee when forced to do so is nothing more than a symbolic event highlighting nothing more than those doing so make good sheep who are unable to act for themselves. Q de K has done more for racial harmony in SA than 100 knees being taken. Get of yer knees and do something positive if you want change

Serious question Statts because I honestly don't know the answer - What has Quinton de Kock done to contribute to racial harmony in South Africa?

Was listening to a coloured South African cricket journalist yesterday, and he was saying how Q de K had been involved with helping and coaching young black and white SA kids. Lets face it he wouldnt need to do much to outdo kneeling on the floor for 10 seconds because someone told you to, would he?

Coaching kids, black and white, and getting stuck into Davy Warner about his wife operating in the toilets of a nightclub with an All Black. And not doing something just because everyone else is doing it. I get it. Plenty of cricket for him to play and money for him to make in India and it appears here.

Enjoyable game last night between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Great atmosphere and loved watching Rashid Khan bowl.

I think theres an interesting game later today. Too close to call and, a lot will depend on which the big opening guns scores big. Finch, Warner, Roy, Buttler. Or will it be a Bairstow, Morgan, Maxwell or Smith. Zampa v Rashid.as an added bonus.

I'm going for Buttler to come good and England to sneak it.

He's just groveled to the CSA who in turn have apologized for their 'bad timing' on their stance (but not for being racist).

'twas a cracker indeed. I had high hopes for Afghanistan after Naib and Nabi's last stand and Rashid finally nailed Babar but it was always going to be tight, right up until Ali's 6,0,6,0,6,6 explosion.

Hes not likely to be racist is he, bearing in mind he's from a "mixed race" family, with his step mother being black.

I suppose some might think that would be a REASON to be racist :-k

QdK's marginally exotic genealogy may be of interest to some but the only racism I see is CSA's mandatory "you WILL take the knee" directive. Wilfried Zaha gave up the ghost on an increasingly irrelevant gesture ages ago and never faced any sort of censure or public opprobrium.

These CSA buggers just can't help themselves can they? Looks like despite the end of apartheid, they (still) have their own issues with coloreds.
