Grass Roots Football 22-23

Post by Earnest » July 31, 2022, 4:27 pm

Championship: Sunderland - Coventry at midday in Blighty.

I need to check the odds, although always a bit dodgy betting on teams at the beginning of the season.

Oldham have new owners too dont they?

Getting booted out of the league doesn't endear the owners to the fans it seems

Didn't Scunny do quite well during the "irrelevant and inconsequential" pre-season friendlies? Same same middling Accrington Stanley?

Omens... but do I hope they bounce right back ASAP.

Scunthorpe too.

Did they?
Was it sponsored by talksport? They seemed to think the public was in some way interested in the competition.
Lets face it the England U14 boys team would give them a good game, and they have six years to grow another 6 inches and add about 6 stone of bulk/muscle before they reach their peak .......
Perhaps the media hype can die down a bit now for another couple of years

Do you think they will be allowed to join Liverpool on their Community Shield winning bus tour?

Sums it up when the highlight of the competition is a bird running round in a sports bra

Miserable, you're Mrs O'Grady, miserable, little old lady.

I've a good mind to pop around and give a hearty tickle 'til you fart.

Do you get a boner when the shirtless footie blokes in their black "sports bras" do their homoerotic goal scoring celebrations?

Peterhead off to a flying start, squandering an early two-goal lead at Balmoor only to end up sharing the points with Clyde while going down to 10 men in the second half.

In earth shattering news I missed last April, Fort William were relegated from the Highland League and now pitch battle in the North Caledonian League. This was after new management decided to challenge both the season-long ban that had prevented them playing any home games at home last season (they allege that the pitch inspectors appointed by the governing authorities were unqualified). They also withdrew from a playoff game that would have properly decided their Highland League tenure on the alleged grounds that the same governing authorities were making arbitrary and discriminatory rulings on player eligibility as well as repeating the pitch inspection mistakes.

Someone had it in for The Fort appears to be the new management's sentiment. That and honestly being quite rubbish while being stuck in a geographically challenging league in the first place. Looking at the competition, it appears they are STILL the most remote and misplaced team in their new league.

C'mon the Fort!

Something to do wiv them upper class schoolboys that spend half the game with their head between their teamates legs.
When that fun stops they stand in lines and lift each other up in the air by holding them round the hips/waist/bum
And don't get me started on the misshaped balls ......... Strange sport
