Proper Garden Broom

Post by wazza » May 5, 2009, 1:28 pm

I have tried all the major retailers in Udon, looking for a proper garden broom. Strong bristles etc

Sick of using the cheap and nasty bamboo/ cane units,

Anyone seen one on their trips around.

I would be interested if your find a source :D

I have seen them about, but separate from the handles, i.e. sold separately.

I've seen them in hardware shops, but not sure if Home Pro has them.

I don't think the Thai's would know how to use one. From my observations they always sweep from the back hand, even in doors. The concept of pushing . with a forward motion would be entirely foreign to them.

Is the type you're looking for, in the US we call'em "push brooms":

Anyway, they got them at Global, I saw them over the weekend. Grey in color and look sturdy, about 300 something bt.
I saw them up near the front, behind the check out, near some fans on display.

Spent more time than I care to remember behind one of those as a lowly peon while employed as a member of Uncle Sam's Misguided Children.

Good find, Papaguido.

Wonder why they are described as 'Garden Brooms'....lets face it you can-not sweep the Garden with one, ideal for hard surfaces, like concrete,Tarmac,Wood floor etc...but would be hard to push around the garden IE: grass lawn, flower beds etc.. a Garden Rake will do the trick much better on grass and soil beds.

MR Vark

A multi surface pushing forward outdoor broom, so as not to be confused with the backhanded outdoor bamboo broom,
