buy a suit, ugh

I gave away my one and only suit which I never wore except to court along with 2 Jerry Garcia ties when I left the states for good some years ago. Now I find myself in need of a decent suit for what will be at most a once a year affair for a few more years, USMC B-Day Ball in Vientiane. One of the Marines loaned me one last year that frankly would have been way out of my price range looking at the label. I can't do that again. Where to buy?

Not really, a few "nights" in BKK would lead to an expensive suit...lol. Only been to BKK once in the last 3 years. I've spent my time as a one month millionaire.

Don't know if they are still there but I bought an inexpensive made to measure suit from "New Look" tailor on Wattuna Nuwong Road (almost opposite Karin Hotel) back in 2007. It has worn well and still looks very good.

Bought many suits in Thailand from India tailors and was generally pleased. One suggestion is that if the shop has poor lighting take the material outside into the sunlight to determine if the color and material suits you.

Had a suit made late last year by Smart Shop in Udon. Cost less than 5000฿ and first class material and workmanship.

I know it's a long shot but do you still have that suit to give away or not? I had a charcoal grey suit from Marks&Spencers but I managed to lose the jacket part in the move up here a few weeks ago. I still have the pants but need a jacket. Maybe yours would be a perfect match.

If he doesn't have the suit, check with New Look and see if he can match. Good work, quick and inexpensive. I am very satisfied with the one I bought. I've only worn twice, USMC B-day Ball in Vientiane. I am NOT a suit person, never have been.

I Still have the FULL Suit..........But...NOT to GIVE Away , It cost me 240 Quid FFS !! I'm Looking for Something for it ( The Full Suit ) As I Will never wear it ever again.....& I Don't want to be left with the Trousers Mate....Just DM Me if you're still interested !!
