PVC rain gutters

Post by Thai_1_On » May 1, 2008, 4:57 pm

OK seems there's a new project around the house, rain gutters. Does anyone know if I can get DIY PVC rain gutters around Udon. Theres a shop close by but they only sell galvanized tin gutters. I'm not a very good "tin banger" so I'm hoping to find the PVC type.

A friend of mine also a member here (Bandung Dero) hunted High & Low for pvc guttering with no luck I'm afraid! :?

Now for the GOOD NEWS!

But he solved his problem when he stumbled across some large PVC Cable Ducting in Global House  (See attached image for example)
Image
He just discarded the clip on lid & hey presto he had exactly what he was looking for at a very small fraction of what i'm sure it would cost if he had found a supplier of the pvc guttering! \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

Not only that this stuff cuts & mitre's very neatly!
You will probably have to configure & make your own custom fixing brackets though, although i'm sure that would be no big deal!

If you also struggle to find the real thing this may well be an alternative!

hope this helps at least

Regards
The Guvnor

Also consider Aussie Boy's solution of cutting a large diameter blue PVC pipe down the middle lengthways.

Not sure how it works out at TBH/metre.

Not a bad idea Guvnor, shame I moving to outside Mahasarakham. My father in-law is not real handy and I'll only be back once a month so house maintence we be limited.

jack you have to cut both sides this way you have a cup to catch water when it rolls off the roof
you also need straps to hole it in place

I think I saw what you are looking for on the back wall at HomePro. Let me know if it's what I think it is (and what you need) as that is one of my 'final' projects on the new pile when I get home as well.

Hi,
House oppisite me had them installed last week by a local Udon firm. He had them in white, but you should be able to get other colours. Looks very good.
Cheers Doug.

HomeMart or the factory over toward the airport

about 300B to 400B per meter installed. Ask about you install price.

they had 3 sizes to choose from. i went for the middle size that cost me 170B a metre including installation

they work well and i am happy with them

Plastic ok, but due to the weathr does deteriorate, that is why metal better, for long term usage.
Windsor will say ok for 10 + years but any plastic exposed to the elements will eventually breakdown.
Ok costs not too high agree, but in the longterm metal will last the life of the house.
