Anyone tried the new, nice-looking digs on Prajak, nearish to Crocs?

Looks like it would be great place for a quick getaway with a Nutty Park or Soi Sampan takeaway.

Have spent last 7 nights there. Still very new and daily work going on but still good service and friendly staff. Got to expect usual noise at chucking out time but not too bad compared to others. Good mix of clientile.
Only issue is having to wait until early evening for fresh towels...not the end of the world!

You are welcome.
Just a couple of minor points I have noticed and want to pass on to future guests: 1/Wifi is almost zero there.Mentioned to owner after several attempts to get decent signal proved futile (this despite router being right outside my room door) and many other guests experiencing same but he did not appear very interest3d..very frustrating having to leave hotel everytime want email! 2/ Most desk staff are university part timers with little or no english spoken. Owners are not english speakingatall so sometimes have to resort to google translation. I always make an effort to speak my limitedthai ( ninoy/nitnoy!)

Here we go... 'they don't like us here'.

It may have escaped some that in Udon Thani, the farang population has always been and always will be a significant minority. With the current construction boom, farangs will be even less significant. I mean do you think the 5 new condo's, each with their standard 35 sq m shoebox studio is aimed at the farangs here?

If have invested in some apartments outside the ring road that is 100% focused on the local market. Within 3 weeks of completion, it has 100% occupancy. There's a very nice farang oriented place a few streets away that is still half empty after almost a year of operation.

Hi

Was really not my intention to infer UD residence were anti falang at all. I was asked for my view and gave it in as fair comment as possible
I did have a lovely stay there and will go back again for sure. I am a great believer that we should all learn as much thai language as possible but as a 1st time visitor to Thailand it was not easy and would have appreciated just a 'nitnoy' of English...but my google translator overcame in the end.

If they realise there's money to be made from falang as falang are interested in staying there, I expect things will improve. The Thais are pretty good in separating falang from their money. One can argue it's their national sport.

The UD Residence room rate (650 baht) and location certainly appeals to me. One problem I've found with a non-English speaking hotel staff is that the desk clerk may be challenged when taking and passing on phone messages left by an English-only caller. I would guess that a monthly rate might be negotiated for around 15,000 baht.

Does anyone have their phone number and email address?

Thanks all for the information.

042.343333 picked up a business card and it is .... pretty much only thai language 8-[ so no idea who they're
marketing to but agree with haggis that non-functioning wifi at those room prices would be an annoyance.

Did try to obtain email address but was unable to as they would not supply
They have no computer on site so am assuming that owners may have at home. Unusual for hotel to have no apparent booking system. Will reiterate: Was treated with total courtesy during my stay and apart from minor faults (which experienced in other hotels..(no hotel can be perfect) I will go back there in the future and am certain time will improve facility
