A couple of years ago, the family and myself stayed at Pantawee Hotel. We do not have any address or telephone number. It is between the main street and the road that runs parallel with the river, on the western side of the markets. From memory it was around 600b night, clean and has a dining room with good food and not a far walk to the river and markets. Sorry it is a bit of a drive from KK to NK to get any more information for you.
Walter, DONT Stay at The Pantawee Its Notorious Katoey owner is a Rip-Off merchant, and ALSO its in a very NOISY Position.......I can HIGHLY Recommend Huan Lai Appartments Very recently built ( about 18 months ago ) Clean Rooms with A/C @ 400 Baht a night...Address is 823 Soi Bunterngchit Muang Nong-Khai 43000,Tel No. 042-413597,or 042-413596,Or Mobile No.06-8541113 Ask for Khun Lai....THESE are right in the CENTRE of Town,Handy walking distance to Markets,& Shops...Good Choice,( And NO I DONT Own or have any Shares in the property )Best of Luck Alan

So Do I WHIZZ !!! But MOST of all I sometimes wish I had a TANK,So I could run Those P****S Over who use the WRONG side of the road....... =D> =D>wizard wrote:It takes us around 2hours 20minutes KK to NK. So what about the return journey and calling into the hotel for information and stopping for a beer. I think you would be looking at 5 hours. Wish I had a 747.

Night Time transport into town is a NIGHTMARE !! The Samlor drivers want AT LEAST 100 Baht to take you to Royal Mekong !! Best go for the one I recommended The Huan Lai, 2 of my "Fussy " English friends stayed there just before last Christmas, and THEY were Very Happy......And IF you want FLOOSIES they can be ARRANGED izzix !!!izzix wrote:try the Royal Mekong right next to the the river in a quiet area ,with the best swim pool in NK . usually a few floosies hanging around looking for a nice farang as well so thats a bonus !
