From Udon to Phuket via Don Muang?
Planning to go to Phuket next month. The only direct flight from Udon will arrive in Phuket at 20:00 which I think is a bit late and I have looked at other options and found the following:
Nok Air Udon to DMK 09:30 -- 10:30
Air Asia DMK to HKT (Phuket) 11:45 -- 13:05
Now I will have checked in luggage and the big question is do I have enough time for this change of flights?

I see your pain with that late of a check-in to your hotel there is not much left in the night.
Have you considered driving down to Khon Kaen for a better timed flight? The drive time is a wash with the layover time and stress with re-checking bags etc.

Doesnt say hes going on his own either Jack, would have thought more likely a family holiday as it Phuket

That seems a good option. I've never thought of looking for flight options for KK before. I guess its max 2 hours from Udon taking it easy?Potamoi wrote: ↑September 27, 2022, 7:28 pmI see your pain with that late of a check-in to your hotel there is not much left in the night.

DMs tip.of the day ... any journey that isnt necessary ..dont bother its nasty out there
the Mitrphab rd running through KK was closed when entering from.rhe Udon side ..water over half a meter deep in the roads low sections ..many abandoned cars n mottirbikes ..diverted via RR which was also flooded .. my high version truck just git through but it was arse nipping times in some places

KK airport has been and, is in the process of being renovated/extended. It looks good and makes for an easy passage now.deankham wrote: ↑September 28, 2022, 3:50 pmThat seems a good option. The only problem is the roads to drop off and pick up can get a bit congested compared to Udon as there isnt as much space. From Udon ring Road to KK airport is about 1.5 hours on a normal run.
Just thought of one other problem. They still dont have any airport lounges?!
