udon thani to singapore
Good news for udon thani with the first of many international routes opening up
Although Singapore is not my favorite place I am sure a lot of people will find the service very useful
With Singapore airlines putting the A380 airbus into service later this year could be
A good idea to fly non stop to Singapore then 2 hour hop to udon thani
Off course you can do that anyway but I would like to try out the new airplane
I have just finished a contract for airbus uk when you see the size of the wings only you get a idea of the size of the thing
Suggested international routes
1= Hong Kong
2= Hanoi
3= Vientiane
4= Katmandu
5= new deli
6= Manchester

Singapore um well I think I found it a very sterile and boring city in fact I enjoyed the thai shopping centre a popular place for thais in Singapore to hang outray23 wrote:Never been to Sinapore how about playing travel guide a bit give us your preceptions of the country when I grow up and become a big boy, I might want or not want to visit it
They even had karaoke
Still think udon thani could do with some more routes overseas the Manchester flight would be a good one

Re: udon thani to singapore
Talking about the SIN-UTH startup, I heard that the inaugural flight was suppose to be on 01 July. Anyone know more about this? And isn't it Tiger Air out of SIN that is operating this route? I checked their website today but could not find UTH in their reservation system.hxjohn wrote:Good news for udon thani with the first of many international routes opening up

The BangkokPost reported today that the flight was delay because of lack of a passenger-screening system and customs officers has forced Tiger Airways to postpone its planned service between Udon Thani and Singapore, originally scheduled to begin this month, for at least another two weeks.
Over here no announcement from the carrier about the new flight to UT in the newspapers except they will increase additional flights to Bangkok, Phuket and Krabi in 14/8. Hopefully, it will take off.

Press release from Tiger Airways yesterday.
Flights to and from Singapore-Udon Thani, will start on August 16th, will operate 3 times a week, Tues, Thurs and Saturday. The starting promotional fare will be 1,200bht one way( It doesn't say if taxes are extra) expect they will be.The plane wil be an AirbusA320 with a capacity of 180 passengers. The flight is scheduled to take 2hours 50 minutes.At this time they will not be offering an unaccompanied freight service.
The release went on to say, they are expecting to offer additional services to Vietnam and mainland China in the not too distant future., but the cities were not named.

Addendum to that. Although the press release was all about Udon it didn't specfically say the extra routes were from here, it may be from Singapore.I am seeking clarification of that. Will advise when I hear.valentine wrote:Press release from Tiger Airways yesterday.

Well looks like the press release may have been premature and the inaugral flight will be delayed. Apparently Customs & Excise and Immigration Dept had agreed to be ready to operate from that date another ministry hadn't. Would you believe The Ministry of Agriculture, yes thats right the Ministry of Agriculture. Many will question what a dept specialising in growing crops had to do with an airport opening, well apparently they have to have a facility for the quarantine of livestock and plants as well as a testing facility for ensuring the safety of meat products that may be brought into the country, and no one thought to incorporate that into the initial plan.So a whole new building, seperate from the main one has to be constructed to house them.
Any comment would be superflous sufficient to say TIT.
